New Transformers movie shows off next gen design!

As we all know, Bumblebee in the Transformers series takes the shape of whatever Camaro is currently in production, but with added changes that usually give a good look at what the Camaro will look like the in the future.

There is a new Transformers movie coming out this Christmas, which is about Bumblebees origin story. This of course means we get plenty of shots of the next Camaro, likely the 7th gen.

A unabashedly retro design, seating for 5, 2 doors, and my favorite change, a rear engine layout. The new design has a huge greenhouse for better visibility, plenty of storage space in the 'frunk', and all the low slung curves you could want.

Check out the trailer for the movie, and tell me what you think of the new look. I for one applaud Chevy for listening to their customers and changing the Camaro to satisfy what people want.

Watched the trailer 3 times... Was looking hardly to find the Camaro... Couldn't find it... Thought I was crazy and was about to ask you guys were in the trailer the Camaro was... Then... Haaaaa, sarcasm.... You guys got me.

This is the first live action feature film to actually look like a Transformers adaptation. Those five other pieces of garbage are some alternative universe version.

Looks like GM may have a lawsuit on its hands for design infringement from VW. Like the retro round headlights.

In seriousness though, this trailer looks pretty good. They got all the transformers looking pretty close to the OG character designs, including Optimus Prime, which is awesome.

Also, there's a 1971/1972 Road Runner transformer? Hell yeah. That's in my top 10 front ends from the muscle car era for sure.

P.S. There is actually a Camaro in the above screen grab as well. This time around, it seems like it's a Decepticon, and they're looking for Bumblebee. I wonder if this will somehow play into him turning into a Camaro near the end, but I doubt it. Would not make much sense story-wise. They probably went with a 1st gen just because it was a common car for that era.
