How do people constantly fall for this buffoonery? It is, typically, either a phone call from a dealer employed telemarketer or a mass-produced letter in the mail.
"We need your car"

It's essentially a very old and rudimentary trick to get some poor sap into the showroom in the hopes of making a sale.

~6-7 years ago, I had a 2000 Olds Intrigue as a work car. According to the dealer, they needed that too.

Been said a million times before...a car is the WORST 'investment' one can make. But drive it, or garage it and worship it, just don't think a Chevy Camaro is going to make you money...Unless less you garage and worship it for, oh, about 50 years. AND DON'T MOD IT!!!

I'm gonna go see about it. Like I said, worst case scenario, I get back in my car and burn some rubber out of the lot. I know I'll end up taking a loss but I really want a zl1 and I really like having a warranty

First: yes this is common dealer schtick. They get your car back and resell it AND sell you another car. A 2 for 1.

Second: why only 500 miles? Was this thing sitting because of an accident or a problem?

just go with what you like and feel will enjoy more. I like the performance of the 6th Gens but i like the look of my 5th gen better too so i know what you're saying.

for me its simple: i already have a camaro so i am just waiting till the 32 Valve DOHC Gen VI motors come out in vettes and camaros to take the 5 year payment plunge. I'm definitely gonna get one of those brand new. A 5.5 DOHC V8 in a Corvette/Camaro singing to the tune of ~8000 RPMS from the factory. Makes my skin tingle just thinking about it.
