GM Extended Warranty on ZL1 or ZLE

I have never purchased an extended warranty, but the dealer asked me if I was interested in one. I asked what would be the longest time and least miles that was available. He tried to find one and then said there are no GM extended warranties available for a ZL1. Has anyone been able to purchase one, and if so what was the cost?

Varies by plan and.. by dealer. Purchased my plan shortly before the bumper to bumper expired - not sure it makes a difference.

Here's my example: platinum, 4 years or 60,000 miles, $0 deduc was hair over $1500.

Already had front control arm replaced w alignment under plan, "saving" about $500.. so i'm in for $1000 into plan with 3 years to go

Pretty sure i'll run out of time before I run out of miles.

It's GM branded protection plan, hosted by "AMT Warranty Corp". This means you take it to dealer, just like under new car warranty.

During the term of this Contract, We will pay or reimburse You, an authorized Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, Cadillac dealership or if an authorized Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, Cadillac dealership is not accessible any licensed repair facility for approved costs to repair or replace any Breakdown of all parts as explained in the Schedule of Coverages.

Keep in mind that wording in these contracts can change and you should review yours for details that apply to you.

I contacted Peyton Farnsworth @ PFarnsworth@dennymenholt.com last year when my warranty was going out and purchased a GMPP warranty from him. He was very helpful and was recommended on this forum.

You can send him an email with your car's info and see what he can offer to you.

Get a genuine GM warranty, not some outside company. It's right on their screen when you check in at the dealer for service, no matter who you buy it from. My Jeep factory extended warranty gives me a full refund after 100K miles, if I don't use it. Not sure if the GM one does.

I received an email from Peyton. He said GM has stopped sales of extended warranties and he doesn’t know when or if, sales will resume. Very interesting!
