And this is why timing chains are more or less a "normal wear item" on my 2.0T Audi.

I totally see Jason's points on a theoretical standpoint, but I gotta say, the proof is in the pudding. Are we seeing a ton of DI engines failing left and right? Not really, unless they are being neglected, or the brand they belong to just isn't known for good reliability to begin with (like a certain manufacturer that starts with B). Gen V Small Block has been around for about 8 years now, and are we seeing massive issues with them? Nope, just like a lot of DI engines from other manufacturers like Honda. The ones that like to collect carbon at the back of the intake valves have incorporated walnut blasting into their service intervals. The moral of the video is not to fear DI engines and more to make sure you get the right, high-quality oil and get it changed on time.

Well don’t I feel stupid for buying a DI Camaro, gonna have to sell it and get a port injection Challenger. Much appreciation to FarmerFran pointing this out to us? Last I checked there still is Dodge forums up and running.

The current LT4 has been in circulation since 2014 in Corvette, Cadillac, and Camaros. It's the or one of the most powerful GM production engines ever. Like all other engines, it's not perfect, but I really like mine.

My Wheatles are good bud. Not on here as much as you obviously however with my limited engagement here I find your posts some what leading.
Example- why Challenger leading sales etc. To provide clarity I had a 15 Challenger Hellcat loved the car sold it moved on. I don’t frequent the Hellcat forum pointing out flaws or observations or opinions over there. Just seems a little odd your still here like the parent that can’t let go? You seem very knowledgeable and helpful however do you feel your putting out a bit of a slant/bash since you went to the 392. And sorry I’m not over sensitive I’m just good at seeing patterns or tells. If I’m off base just you can just say I won’t keep on it. I don’t get upset on socials or as involved as much like your 2400+ posts.

I have a DI engine in my 2012 Hyundai Sonata that is right at 100,000 miles (it's my DD), haven't had any problems, still runs great... No catch can either...

Because one YouTube idiot has more knowledge than the combined experience of literally thousands of trained engineers. We’d be completely f’ed as a species were it not for the amazing contributions of people like him.

like all engines,it probably depends on how hard you beat on them and how often you change oil,and what oil you are running.back in the carbuerated days of yore, most engines were done or blowed up at 100,000 miles.hoping farmer fran will be the dodge donut maker...we will see how much abuse the 392 can stand...LOL

Ugh. It's a click-bait, Mobil1 sponsored video. Not a single one of this things talked about in the video is an actual problem. And this is why I unsub'd from EE's channel a couple of years ago.
