First Track Day - Gloves?

In a few weeks, I'm finally getting on the track after a good six months of having the ZL1 1LE.

I've noticed the top of the wheel getting a bit "sticky", especially down in FL during the summer. I'm sure it's something with the alcantara and the oils in my hands. The shift knob is also showing wear after 5000 miles.

So, I'm thinking about some driving gloves to help with sweat and grip, etc.

Any recommendations? I see Alpine Stars, Racequip, G-Force, Simpson...

I don't mind spending $100, give or take.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kinda like a helmet. Gotta try them on.
Different patterns, different stitching... so many look the same but are not.

I was at a shop that had about 50 pairs out. I tried on a dozen and only 2 or 3 felt 'good'

I ended up just wearing a pair of Outdoor Research Ironsight gloves. (Combat gloves..)

..ya need to try them on, or order a bunch and return.

I just picked up some simpson gloves in xxl black/white palms. $99 They fit me very well, OTOH I also tried on a pair of Alpinestars xxxl and they were way too tight $200.

I second the alpine tightness. I ordered a pair simply in the colors I wanted. they got here. tight as can be. im sure I popped a few threads on the first install and take off.

so if you can get to a place to try on a few, do so... also, I bought the 200$ pair as well from Alpinestars, and the big advantage is the fireproofing. honestly, I could have done well with a pair of D-Lineman gloves that I used to wear in college for almost a 3rd of the price.

if you're going for a full fireproof suit setup...good buy. if not, that loot can be spent elsewhere, even towards a set of tires.

Thanks for all the help!

Went for the RaceQuip 355 style. I had an amazon gift card for $25, so I figured for $25, it's worth the gamble. The 356 seems a bit better, but we'll definitely see how these work.

I've got 3 pairs of expensive Stand21 Gloves, but my favorites are Cheap Nomex Pilots Gloves - Leather Palms, Nomex and they are about $12 a pair

I have a set of nomex pilots gloves but I rarely wear gloves at all and have never had an issue.
