Procharged M6 Guys

Do you guys have a bit of RPM hang when you rev in neutral? I can't tell if its just my crank case pressure building up and causing the slow rev or if it is just the way the car revs up.

I noticed a few threads of people complaining about RPM hang in their M6 cars when reving without a blower. I don't think I remember rev hang before, but then again I don't remember revving much other than short burps before the blower either.

Any input is appreciated!

To be clear the car revs up fast, but down revs slowly

I have INSANE REV hang on my M6 1LE. I don't have a blower but I have kooks 2 inch headers off road connection pipes to mbrp race exhaust, cold air inductions CAI, DSX flex fuel kit and tuned for E85.

Yeah it aucks, I did a quick burnout at the track the other day and I had to wait a bit for the rev hang to go away so I can move up to the line, if not I’d probably be launching my way up their lol.

This can be fixed with proper tuning.

I can make a vid this weekend. I finally got myself a daily driver to give this thing a rest so I don't have it with me here at work.

The thought crossed my mind... What in the tune would affect rev hang that would be touched during tuning?

Is everyone in the thread that mentions rev hang in their car tuned? Did it start right after the tune?

Sadly I don't remember revving up high before the blower/tune so I can't say.

I had bad rev hang before my tune, but after tuning for flexfuel and headers, it definitely got worse. Hoping my tuner can fix it when I cam the car.

I don't mind approaching my tuner about it, he seemed to not know what I was talking about and mentioned that he hasn't heard complaints about it before and doesn't think its something he's played with. He's not saying don't come by but the its a mission to get to his shop since I work on the other side of the city hah. He lives around my place though maybe I can get him to make a house call. Ted seems sure it is a tune thing. At the same time it sounds like some people have seen it before the tune too. I faintly remember my revs being weird back before tuning too but again, never really rev'd high back then.

Oh crap now I remember. I did have bad rev hang before the tune... I noticed it when I put on my primary cat deletes! Lol sometimes a cup of coffee is all the brain needs.

cat deletes are causing the rev hang. My A8 did it when revving it in park. Put the stock pipes back on and it went away. Just needs tuned correctly as Jenetty said.

I don't want to be misunderstood, I am not saying it is the fault of the tune I am merely suggesting is can be adjusted.

Ted.
