Question Stripes or No Stripes?

Hey everyone! I have a cyber gray 2013 Camaro SS with red hash stripes on the side. I'm considering either adding matte black rally stripes or a matte black hood. (I'm assuming that in either case, I will need to change the hash stripes on the side to black to match.) I can't decide which way to go. I'd love some opinions on what you think looks best. I've thrown together some quick photoshop comps of the rally stripes and the black hood to to get an idea of what each would look like compared to how it is now. Let me know what you think! I totally appreciate the feedback!

I would go with matt black or red strips on the hood and trunk; regardless, if you go with strips, I would remove the hash mark strips.;

If I had them removed, do you think it would show that they had been there?

I have the factory matte black rally stripes on my CGM SS. I absolutely love how subtle they are. If you leave the hash marks it would be too busy IMO. I voted for a matte black hood with the hash marks. There is a possibility of ghosting from the removal of the hash marks but a good detailer/body shop can get rid of that.

Thanks for the feedback! So you prefer the matte black hood with black hash marks over the black rally stripes and no hash marks?

I know of a couple people who have removed stripes and they did leave a 'shadow', but in all cases it buffed out and you couldn't tell their vehicles ever had them.

Don't mix stripes. Pick the one you like best. Both looks like a ricer trying to add HP

Yep, I've come across a couple just like mine (although I love it) never saw one with the hood and hash marks.

I don't like stripes, so I chose "other". IMO you'll have a better look with a flawless detail with very good or excellent paint.

You could do the matte hood if you're after the 1/LE look, but I don't like matte hoods either. Clean, simple, with a flawless detail wins every time in my book.

What do you mean by flawless detail? Just cleaned and well washed?

My daughter's car is a 2012 Ashen Gray Metallic. Her stripes are failing and need removed/replaced. Last fall I removed the ones on the rear spoiler to see how hard it'd be, not too bad. This spring the rest will be pulled and she doesn't want them replaced, as long as I can polish out any ghosting left from them being there for the last five years.
Much cleaner look without she believes.

More than a wash. The paint should be polished and free of swirls, and it should have a couple of passes with an awesome LSP, on the level of Pinnacle, Zymol, Swissol, etc.

Whatever method of detail that one chooses, the car should be exceptionally clean and the paint should shimmer and be as clear as a pool of wading water! This is my definition of a flawless detail.

Now don't get me wrong; I'm not necessarily saying that you should not do stripes or any other decoration, but merely giving you my opinion of what I expect from my babies. You have to be happy at the end of the day, so I advise to use very good judgement and execute your plan flawlessly.
