Head lights go off when turning signal is on.

Sorry if this has been asked before. I did a search and didn't see anything about it. I noticed that when I turn on my turning signal the corresponding headlight shuts off. Is this normal?

Ever since they started putting bright LEDs on vehicles, (See Charger, Grand Cherokee, Multiple Audi... List goes on) they all turn off when turn signals turn on. I hate it, but its the way they're all doing it.

Your headlight should not be going off in that case, just the LED lights should. That's how it should work, otherwise if you signaled a turn at night you'd lose half your vision.

My bmw does not do this, i was hoping you could get rid of this feature on the camaro

BMW is about the only manufacturer that doesn't do this.

I hated this on my 5th gen also. It looked like one of my halo's was broken when I was making a turn. Thankfully Gen5DIY came up with a harness that left the DRL's on when engaging the turn signal. I'm hoping they make a similar harness for the 6th gen. As a matter of fact I'm going to PM them now and find out.

You can add Acura to that list also. On my wife's RDX the DRL "eye liner" stays on even though you engage the turn signal. Looks beautiful actually.

To the best of my knowledge, this change came with the '14 refresh. Given the lack of front changes to the ZL1, I don't know whether any of them have this feature.
