Sounds good ill check all the fuses again and see if we popped one. Funny thing was is at the beginning of the day the AC (HVAC Center) fuse was popped. Could be related not sure how the AC fuse popped though.

UPDATE: Problem fixed... burnt through a wiring harness tie clip which cause the wiring harness to melt through 6 of the wires. Additionally, ended up blowing 5 or so fuses in the process.. Talked to my dealer, wont cover on the warranty due to the headers..

Yeah, that's what I figured, burnt the wires and shorted multiple fuses in the process. I imagine there's some protection you can use around that to prevent the excessive heat.

I would go back to the shop that installed the headers. They should have noticed a wiring harness was too close to them and either fixed it or made you aware of it, so you could!

Ill try to snag a picture. We are good friends with the shop that has worked on all the cars we have. It looks like it melted the clip holding the harness back first, then melted the harness itself.

Was it the area per the link I sent? Wondering as headers may be in my near future...

It is the wiring harness under the coolant reservoir that is secured to the frame rail. The zip ties broke and fell onto the headers and hence the electrical nightmare ensued. Back up and running thanks to Aikman Performance in ATX . Harness was rerouted and secured with metal zip ties!

Glad to hear you got this fixed Greg... I really hate the plastic zip tie thing. Just a recipe for disaster.

Nice to have a shop that takes care of you too

Not an issue with the stock exhaust manifolds...I'm sure the added heat with how close the headers are were the root cause of the tie wrap failures or they got broken during installation.

I always coat my headers and also wrap near. On my cars with coated headers, within a short time, you could touch the headers after running...yes, still hot, but, WAY lower temp and radiant heat off them. Might have saved my Firebird years ago from burning up when I kicked rods out at almost 150mph and oil got on them even with an engine diaper.

Surprised so few guys get headers high temp coated...not saying you can lay plastic loomed wiring against coated headers, just saying it greatly lowers the outside temp of the piping.
