If it's the nav screen rattle that's an easy fix, but is common. I drove four used 6th gens that all had it before I bought mine new, that eventually had it also.

Chevys have come a long way though and the 6th gen materials and quality are much much better than previously.

I love my '18 1SS 1LE, and is a fantastic performance car which is why I bought one. That said, it doesnt feel that fast to me. Sure, it handles like a super car, but it really isn't that fast, or more accurately, it doesnt feel that fast to me. It feels heavy and a bit under powered despite the way it handles. It is a fairly heavy car, so kudos to the Engineers for designing it to handle the way it does despite the heft.

I've had and built some fast cars, so my idea of speed may be different. I just thought that 455hp and the accompanying torque would feel quicker off the line. I've had cars with 360 hp or less that felt quicker. Again, all relative because those were lighter cars.

Maybe I need a ZL1!

Overall, it's a great car. Not the fastest, not the highest quality, not the best looking, but an excellent overall package especially when the value per dollar is factored in.
Ok, so I drove it in Track mode for the first time the other day... yeah, the 1LE is a badass car. Sport mode is fun, but in Track mode, it feels like a race car. It may not actually be faster, but it feels faster with the tightened controls, suspension, and different throttle rssponse. It is a handful on the street and I nearly lost my sunglasses ripping around a tight corner on a back road. The Gs were ridiculous and unless on a track, no way can you even come close to its limits on the street. It is a Jekyll and hyde car from tour mode to track mode.

455hp and 29mpg is amazing. i still get 28mpg@75 interstate driving with my mods. the only problems iv had were the fan not shutting off a couple of times. the paint is poor quality. no rattles or any other problems in 2 years.

I should have bought a ZL1

This is my 3000th post, and I thought what better thread to "spend" it on than this .

The car is still absolutely amazing. It has just the right amount of power, I added a Soler LT5 throttle body, upgraded to 1LE spec wheels and wider tires plus added the BMR rear cradle lockout kit in the meantime, and every drive is even more enjoyable than on day 1.

Such an awesome beast.

Drove an SS for 4 years, in general I agree.

However, once you step up to a ZL1 with that blower pushing you back harder all over the rpm range you never want to go back, plus a ZL1 just has "the stance". I didn't like working hard to take down ubiquitous Mustangs and M3s in freeway rolls...and now I don't

Anyway enjoy, 6th gens are awesome bftb

(not much, though, just a safe 7.5 psi for 560 rwhp)

I thought this was the most appropriate thread to come back to and make my 10,000th post in.

My 2018 Camaro 2SS is 5.5 years old, I still absolutely love it and can honestly stand by everything said in this thread. It, just like any manmade products ior even people, isn't perfect, but regardless of the future, it does provide an absolutely amazing, unique driving experience. Quite possibly she will indeed remain my forever Camaro.

Also, I want to thank everyone on the forums who help out others time and again, you people with an astonishing level of depth and willingness to share their wealth of knowledge, whom, frankly, I've learned the majority of my Camaro knowledge, and much wisdom beyond just car advice, from.

You know who you are, and in no small way this is why the forums have been a fantastic experience to me.

Congrats, Arpad! Thanks for all you do to make this a great spot to talk Camaros.

I totally agree it’s a fantastic platform, handling nearly 1100 WHP in a very safe and controllable way with just some basic suspension upgrades is a true testament to its capabilities. Having a new Mustang GT in the garage alongside my Camaro has helped me appreciate the Alpha chassis even more. Even though I have staunch aggravation towards GM for its lack of interest and enthusiasm in this platform, it’s probably a car that I will hang onto forever as well.

Leaving cars and coffee today I said to myself, " this is the best darn car I have ever owned". It's a keeper for as long as I have left.
