AN line blew off

So one of the 8AN lines running to my fuel rails for my port injection blew off and pushed out like 3 gallons of fuel in the engine bay. thank god it hit the firewall and not the header/motor. There was a lot of pressure behind it to shoot it back to the firewall.

What the f*** could have caused it? I built the AN line 100% to a t. exactly how it was supposed to be built. I made sure it was seated properly, i double and triple checked everything, and the line has been in use for months for tuning purposes. I don’t like that something i did could have hurt somebody. But i’m not sure what else i could have done differently. I am genuinely confused.

It was a -8AN pro flow fragola fitting

I had a boss with a chipped Dodge that kept blowing injector lines because he was over charging the injectors. Just saying.

well shoot i wouldn’t imagine anything should be getting over charged. i have 16 injectors and i’m only running 2 pumps at 60 psi. i wouldn’t think 60 psi would blow off a line like that. we haven’t even turned the 3rd pump on yet. we aren’t turning anything on until we figure out what causes the issue. the tuner thinks it might be a faulty fitting or that the regulator went bad and didn’t relieve enough pressure

Sorry to hear that, I've not heard of that happening and with such low fuel pressure at the rail I'd think it was a fitting failure. Amazing how much it can pump out even under low pressure compared to the high side. Hope you get it figured out, I ran that set up for over a year with no issues.

Well it’s nice to get another opinion on the issue. I’m going to be going over the fuel line and fitting to see if i can spot where the error occurred. then i’ll be setting up a hydro test rig for it and using the fore fuel pressure gauge as well to see if it’s functioning properly. I’d like to get down to the bottom of this issue to really get a deeper understanding of what caused it. But i will also be moving over to ptfe because this is an issue that simply can’t happen again. This time it was luck, maybe there won’t be much luck next time. So i am just going to take luck out of the equation

Maybe pressure test with air, if you are not already doing that:

i was actually thinking of just doing an air test. unfortunately i don’t have any fittings to do a test so i will 100% be buying the kit from that link you sent me. you are awesome for that
