Crash is old news.....Now what?
I know the testing has it's risks, but this crash has got to be a major set-back...or not?
Are they done at the Ring? Will there be more videos of the "other" hash-marked car? Are they not going to run any more until they figure out what happened? Will this affect any production time-line??? Things were quiet today...no new vids or spy-shots....Are they folding up the tent??? |

They are probably going through the car and data to see what happened. I'm sure they are working on a fix and will be back out as soon as possible. I doubt they would leave so soon. That's why they bring multiple cars.

Three solid days since the crash.....still nothing new....
I hope we get more to critique soon....I was hoping for perhaps a timed glory lap, but it seems the chances of that are getting slimmer by the day.... |

And just maybe they are sorting out what caused the crash and implementing fixes or waiting on a part, etc? Or maybe they got the data they needed before the crash and are done?
It's ALL speculation but no cause to jump off the roof. These things take time. Most likely they are deep diving into the cause of the rear tire lockup and are engineering a fix. Imagine if this happened to a customer's car - they will want to figure out precisely what caused it and how to make sure it does not ever happen again. It was just lucky that happened where it did and not head on into a 90* turn. It could have been much, much worse.

if it was an ABS or brake related failure...they will be back very soon. If is was a differential locking or hardware failure deeper into something that is UNIQUE to the car then they may take some time to work through why it happen. If is was driver error (which I don't believe it was) then they just may ship another test car over and pick up right where they left off. I don't see this as being a huge set back at all. They will get some great data that will most likely make the car safe for all of us who intend to buy one.

It looked like all 4 brakes locked up. No ABS at all!

Yes that's an un-camo'd Gen6 ZL1..
The Camo'd Gen6 though looks like a normal SS..it doesn't have the big spoiler/wing and aero bits the "Z/28" has. |

Pretty cool seeing the uncamoed 6gen ZL1 on the track. Also the Z28 passed that Mercedes or Volvo whatever it was like a boss!
