In the article they write, "A notable power upgrade to the C8 will occur in January 2019, attributable to a new four-cam, 32-valve V-8 set to be presented at NAIAS." Could a toned down version of the motor make it into the Z/28 before the higher horse version gets into the ZORA? Just a thought.

Also in the article, "The C7's final hurrah will occur at next year’s 2017 NAIAS, when a swan-song mega-power edition debuts, possibly wearing the illustrious ZR1 badge." Now I expect that this one might be FI but another possible option for the Z.

Anyway, it looks like GM has some power plants that they have been working on which could debut in less powerful form in the Z/28....if you still believe that the Vette must have the best first, which I don't think is the way things work anymore (see A10).
I'm skeptical about everything in that article.

But even assuming that its true, that would make for an absurdly long lead time on the Z/28. If this engine is to debut in early 2019 in the Corvette, then that means it would be about 3 more years until GM gives the public a taste of the Z/28 and then a few months more until it goes into production. Which would be longer than it took them to go from nothing to production on the 5th generation Camaro.

Seeing as they already have prototypes running around in only basic camo (ie, not the thick padded black vinyl stuff), it probably isn't going to be too much longer until GM does the public unveil on the Z/28 & about a year or less until it goes into production.

In short? No, I do not think that the Z/28 is getting a 32v DOHC engine from the C8 Corvette.

There's no way GM will wait for 2.5 years to release the Z/28 that they are testing now. It's either the LT4 or a new LTx.

I agree that we are not going to have to wait multiple years to get the Z/28 (or whatever we have seen testing). If it is getting a new engine it will debut in the Camaro.

L88 and LT5 trademarks are still live. If it is a 7L, I'd bet it is the L88.

That doesn't sound like blower whine to me.

Yes, but the article includes an opinion. I posted it for the article more than the video. Just one more "source" with an opinion.
