How do you plan to use the car? Is the backseat going to be used? (much) What is the most important thing to you about a new car? |

That's not what my title means.
And normally I wouldn't go with an import over a domestic, but I frankly don't understand getting a V6 in a muscle car. Save up a bit and get the V8. If we're talking used (since brand new they're about the same as an SS), I'd take an evo over a V6 Mustang/Camaro/Challenger any day. |

Obviously, posting on a Camaro forum most members are going to say Camaro without giving it a second thought. I'm a lover of all good cars, regardless of manufacturer, and I believe different cars are better suited for different situations. Which one you should get depends on a number of conditions:
What is the primary purpose of this car (pure transportation, cruising, enthusiastic driving on winding roads, drag racing, autocross, road course racing, car shows, etc)? What is your budget? What will your gas consumption look like? How do you prefer your maintenance (dealer, DIY, or independent shop)? How much room do you have to park? Does style matter (for example, do you have stuffy clients who would be more impressed with a more sophisticated car?) Does the door count matter? What weather will you drive in? What do the dealers look like in your area? The answer of which car is best depends on the answers to those questions. In a nutshell, the V6 Camaro is, in my opinion, the best looking out of all the choices, best fuel economy, solid performance, interesting interior, and a screaming bargain. The 2.0T Genesis coupe is more agile, smaller, probably easier to live with day to day, but certainly lacks in power. I actually kinda like the styling, but most people here will strongly disagree with me. The Evo GSR is a much better deal than the MR, and you can get a much bigger discount, so going for the manual transmission is a good idea. Its AWD setup will be nice for varying road conditions and the 4 doors enhance practicality, but I'd be worried about dealer support. Mitsu doesn't exactly have a huge presence in the US market. Fuel economy will probably be the lowest of the bunch. The Evo will without a doubt be the highest performer of the bunch.

These are great questions! i shall answer. 1.primarily back and fourth to school. and the occasional fun twisty backroad. 2.about 20K to 32K 3.school is only about 5 miles from my house. but i drive a turbo truck so it eats gas anyways. haha. 4.DIY (its a hobby) 5.lots 6.style matters alot. this is where the camaro just takes my breath away. and you know I have to attract the ladies. haha 7. door count doesnt matter. 8.sun and rain. thats it 9.fairly small. nice people though Oh and i know about mitsu not having many dealers. I had to order parts from some dealer in Ohio lol thanks for your input everyone!

Well, then, you can get a well equipped brand new Camaro for mid 20's. Go for it.

Considering your answers, I'd say the Camaro does seem to fit you just fine. Still, test drive all of them. Some have criticized the Camaro's visibility. It didn't bother me with my driving position. If you're doing DIY maintenance, I can't help by feel the Camaro is going to be your best choice. Parts are going to be easily available and affordable as well.

Another question, that I didn't see asked, though I just skimmed the thread, so someone might have...
Do you plan on modding the car, if so, what are your power goals? |

i have been leaning twoards the camaro for a while. I test drove the geneses 3.8 touring. im impressed with the ride quality and egronomics of the cockpit.
However. I have yet to drive the evo or the camaro. The evo i can guess what it will feel like considering my truck has the same motor. (not exactly mines a 4g63t and its a 4b11) but i do have to factor in how i can fit. I am 6'5 and ive been scared about the interior room of the camaro.
