Any way to obtain GM service history from the VIN?

Is there a way to get the GM service history from the VIN number? Obviously, the history would only have records if they used a GM dealership for service. The dealership claims they don't have any service records for the car even though the car was purchased at that dealership.

Go to a Chevrolet dealership & ask the service dept to print out a history. Worst they can say is no, but have never had an issue getting a print out.

Just because a vehicle was bought at a given dealership, doesn't mean its scheduled or any other required services were performed there. My Corvette was purchased at a dealership in Vegas, but has never been back. Initially, all warranty service/work was done at another dealership in Vegas I thought was better. Currently, all period service and any required maintenance/repairs are done by a dealership in Utah due to them being closer and, IMO, have a great service department.

I added the myCARFAX app on my phone, entered my VIN and it showed all service done at dealer and local garage. Only downside is it keeps reminding me about the key recall.

Sorry for not seeing all of your responses earlier. I would be happy to provide them for whomever wants one. Just PM your VIN and email. Just to be clear. I can provide a list of RPOs, original dealership it was delivered to, and warranty claim history. I cannot provide service records, those are only in the system of the company doing the servicing.

My 2001 Suburban and 2002 Tahoe were purchased at one of the local dealerships. Other than for one recall on my Suburban, neither has been back to any dealership for anything. Never needed anything fixed under warranty and I do all my own maintenance and repairs. All their service records are on a spreadsheet on my PC.

Ita not totally out of the realm of possibility that the dealership has no records. Or they could just be lazy and not want to help.

If you create an account, OWNERS tab, Chevy web site, you will get all the
service information, IF it was reported. You can also go to the Mycarfax site
create an account, and also get all the service records, IF they were reported.
You add your car to the garage by vin. That's how I got all mine.

I live half way between Vegas and St George, Moapa Valley. I may have to take a drive up there to check them out. BTW, I perform all maintenance on my car. My previous dealership in Dallas wouldn't touch my car due to the mods.
