camaro VS altima (breaking)

So looks like the camaro does a much better job stopping for emergency vehicles than the Nissan Altima.

no one was hurt thankfully. All of the pain is really with the insurance company at this time.

*protip* always have good insurance you never know when the other guy doesn't have any.

Ouch that's aggravating. Especially when people don't have insurance. At least no one is hurt.

traffic was moving around 30-35 before the police officer switched on his lights siren and horn to get through a red light.

She locked it up for a bit before she hit me. It felt like she went under more than a direct hit.

onstar didn't check on me nor did the airbags go off.

Glad you are OK.

Just to clarify that front air bags typically do NOT deploy for rear end collisions. Have no idea what triggers Onstar.

"In low-speed front-end collisions, your seatbelt is
usually enough to provide protection for your head
and chest. However, in higher speed front-end crashes,
front airbags deploy to protect your head and chest as
they move forward. Front airbags usually don’t deploy
in rear-end collisions, side impacts or rollovers.
Side
airbags deploy during side impacts and rollovers, and
provide buffers between the occupants and the doors."

that's good info to know. So far I have never ran into anyone in a car with airbags.

Unrelated but a 4cyl jeep rental has no get up and go.

It took out the grill totally. I think the radiator was dented but it was not leaking. no major panels were affected.

I didn't take any pics of hers because she was bawling most of the time.

It could have been driven but without insurance it was towed away as far as I know. They sent me on my way.

I did have something rubbing on the rear passenger tire at times on the way home. not sure what that ends up being yet.

Body shop is pretty behind so I don't think they have actually done much other than order some parts and get the first appraisal

Glad you are okay...though I did get a chuckle when I saw your "prize" for winning this braking competition.
