Ill be waiting until May for sure. Roads are wet and still have snow. Rather be safe than sorry with my car.
Still will get June to September to drive it. Really trying to get a Visa to Texas from Canada just so I can be happy all year long |

It was 65° here today, almost called out sick from work just so I could drive in some nice weather for a change.
No joke, weather is calling for some snow BS here on Monday.

I was super happy to get my car out this past week and put some miles on it. Now I just need to the patient and wait until spring is fully here in Maryland!

I took it out for about 20 minutes tonight, I don't think I can put it away again! We had some warmish days and heavy rains, it's cold again but dry so we'll see what I can get away with.

57 yesterday in Fairbanks. 47 today in Anchorage. Overnight low was 40. I think I'm going to put the summer tires back on next weekend.
Interestingly, sun doesn't set in Deadhorse now until 8:05pm and there's decent light to about 9:30pm...(was just there).

Weather in the 50s yesterday so took the opportunity to swap my trans and differential fluids after the car has been sitting the last 4.5 months. Put some more air in the tires, and off I went. As some people have commented before, the one benefit you get with the car sitting under the cover through the winter, is that it's like buying a new car every spring. Drove her to work today, I forgot what an amazing car this is.

My 18 1LE has been undercover in my garage since October.
Question about the first start up after sitting? When waking up my previous 12 Corvette, I could hold the accelerator to the floor and tap the start button. Holding the accelerator down wouldn't allow the engine to start, only turnover. I'd let the starter run the engine for several seconds to get some oil pumping. Then, a 2nd time using the same procedure. The 3rd time I wouldn't hold the accelerator to the floor, allowing the motor to start. Does anyone know if this is possible with the 6th Gen as well? I'd hate to hold the accelerator to the floor and have her start up at 8K Rpms. |

Full throttle initiates flood clear just like your vette. Not sure if it’ll react the same way

Brought my 1LE out of storage this past Saturday. No tender. Car in Transport Mode. Had no issues unlocking the car. It fired up first try.
Replacing engine oil, transmission oil, and diff fluid today. |

Winter hibernation is over for me but...
I pulled the cover off, unhooked the battery tender, and bled the extra air out of the tires last week on 04-Apr-2019. It had been sitting like that since Thanksgiving 2018. Fired right up, no issues. It was in my sister-in-law's garage about 15 miles from my house. The ritual of storing it for months and living without it obviously has its pros and cons. On the plus side:
On the minus side:
The biggest takeaway for me from that first drive of the year was a reminder of the ridiculous amount of performance this car has. It's definite overkill for a street car. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love it, but after driving a 110 hp Mini all winter, the difference is just total night and day! The "but" I mentioned at the top of the post is that the weather here in southern New England is still crap. It's been either cold or rainy all week - it was sleeting one day - and today it's a bit warmer in the mid-50s, but raining. The car hasn't left the garage in a week, so I hooked up the battery tender again this morning to regain any possible parasitic drain on the battery.
