MSD Atomic Gasket Gap

Is it normal for the corners of the MSD Intake to have the rubber o ring gasket showing when it is assembled off the car. It kinda looks like MSD is relying on the actually manifold bolts to clamp it in the corners.

normal. id check the car thoroughly for vacuum leaks after installation (sop). msd fitment & quality control is terrible. great performing manifolds but man they really bother me.

i also had trouble with the evap ports sealing on 2 different ones i had.

Yeah I got it installed and it wouldn’t idle because I installed the MAF backwards but after I flipped it seems to idle fine, driving it to the tuner tomorrow so we’ll see how that goes. I’ll update on power for those interested.

They said they were surprised it didn't pick up more. It was tuned with the cold air inductions intake on (lid off, hood open), but I swapped to the roto-fab dry and got it re-tuned off the dyno. Don't feel a difference between the cold air intakes.

my car only picked up 14 whp with an msd. it had a pray ported stock lt1 manifold on it before. car picked up a solid 2 mph though. was up 30 whp @ 6500. power was pretty flat from 6k to 6600 ish.

on otherwise stockish cars, the LT2 is almost spot on with an unported msd.

Your MSD install looks great Hostile! Be sure to save the instructions for bolting sequence and torque specs. and re-torque in a thousand miles or three.
