Mine blacked out yesterday for 30sec while driving then came back. Guess I have to keep my eye on it.

I've had my car since feb of 2016.

It blacked out (backlight still on though) for the first time yesterday. Not a blip, but nothing all the way home and then this morning.

So i hunted on my schematics from the shop manual and found that the fuse for the display is in the rear fuse box F16. Pulled that and opened the door and hit the power button a couple times to just drain the thing of power. (i'm not waiting 5 minutes). Then plugged the fuse back in. After a slightly longer than normal amount of time (to be expected if it's cold booting), the display came back on like normal.

I'm guessing there's multiple reasons that cause the display to lockup. Some hardware, some software. If it's software, power cycling it like that should do the trick.

Anyway, just something for people to try out before they go and attempt more drastic measures like disconnecting the battery or taking a hammer to mylink or ....if all that fails, taking it to a dealer.

This is what my 8" screen looked like on 10-21-17, black & totally unresponsive (but radio worked with steering wheel controls):

It has acted normal since, but I'm concerned it will fail after my 3 yr. warranty ends.
Also, Pandora has been glitchy lately (with samsung S8+). It works for about 5-10 min., then freezes. And, I must turn wi-fi off before I start driving or it won't connect at all. On a good note, android auto works well.

Update (12-2-19): It is working fine, so far, so good, fingers crossed.
