I noticed the notchyness as well, but it is the same my 2008 Vette and 2001 Firebird had as well. Fluid will help some, but some of it is just pure fluid issue until everything warms up.

My 5th gen's did it, and even way back to my '96 Trans-Am 6spd did same thing.

Same here, but my 09 C6 and my 04 S2000 were notchy from 1st to second in cold weather and fine once warmed up. Pretty common

Use Mobil 1 atf that’s the only fluid tremec certifies other than that garbage ac Delco that Chevy uses, also for the diff use Mobil 75-90 gear oil with the limited slip modifiers. My transmission feels the same notchy doesn’t have that reassuring engagement, in first and reverse I don’t hear any sounds, but I did my first fluid change a little late at 3200 miles and it made a little bit of a difference. I currently have around 9500 miles and have done the trains and diff 3 times know and it still feels kinda the same notchy. I want to take it to the dealers but I really don’t trust the dealers as they’ll tell you it’s fine so they don’t have to pay. Take it to an independent mechanic and see what he says, for a mechanic that I know the first time he pulled my car in his driveway, he was wondering why it felt that way as well! I somewhat conflicted can anybody give advice!?

Use Mobil 1 atf it’s dexron 3 weight and is the only fluid that tremec certifies

I had some notchiness as well, and had the dealer look at it, which they said it was ok, nothing wrong.
I then changed the fluid to Amsoil 100% synthetic transmission oil, and the shifting improved 100%!
No more hard shifting into second when cold, and no problems either.
Been driving with the Amsoil for 10k miles now.
I also installed a weighted shift knob, which made shifting even easier!
Love the weighted knob, I use to use it on my MRoadster, and 318is, and finally found one!
Not sure if it would fit the Hurst shifter though, if it did that would be even better!
Try changing the oil, some people found good results using Royal Purple as well...I've just always used Amsoil.
