Better off with BFG or Generals.

DWS Tires

Put the DWSs on after 500 miles in Nov 17. They are doing fine and don't have to worry about driving on steel tires when the temp drops into the 40s and below. My wife also put the same tires on her 08 Miata and work well also. Any recommendations for tires for my 2011 Silverado LT? Been looking to replace the originals but wanted to hear from you guys first........

Snow or no snow, summer tires suck on cold rainy days, and by "cold" I mean below 50 degrees or so.

I wish all seasons were an option from the factory on SS cars. I put all season tires on and never going back. They even do OK at the drag strip.

Michelins Defender LTX MS. not the LTXms2
Recommend one size up from stock size.

Just got my 2SS a couple weeks ago. Debating if I should get the DWS's on the stock wheels ($875), or just get some Michellin X-Ice tires and 18" wheels for the winter ($1500). Obviously the tire and rim option is more expensive, but would be nice to have the ability to just swap the tires each season instead of dealing with mount/balance every time.

That's the set up i have. I swapped out the stock SS summer tires for the DWS's. Once December hits I will swap the DWS's out and replace them with my 18" blizzak snow tires. Than next may, I will swap out the 18" snow tires for the 20" DWS's...

I split the difference between the stock run-flats and the A/S options. Went with the Continental Extreme Contact Sport. I like them so far. I live in San Antonio area, so no snow to speak of. They are excellent in rain and perform well in aggressive driving/cornering. Not quite as precise a feel as the Goodyears, but almost.

I did the same as you Pete. I decided to go with the Contact Sports Plus and so far really like them. I did go up a size in the rear though. 285/35 instead of 275/35 factory size. Looks a little better to me anyway. People up North do need M/S tires as compared to us folks that live in the south or southwest because of the weather conditions.

Michelin & Wheels don’t cost $1500, I got them 4 tires and 4 wheels $820 installation included it didn’t say on the bill what the tires and wheels cost separate. I just told them give me the cheapest wheels you got since it’s for winter I don’t care what they look like.
And they looked good actually.

Who did your artwork for your car in your signature listed below? I like it. It's like they just stretched your car...I want one done for my hot wheels 2ss.
