ZL1 order to delivery

Hi, just curious if anyone has received delivery of their ZL1 recently and how long it took. Mine has been on order since June 7/22, I'm getting zero help with an ETA from the dealership or GM Canada

Where did you order from? I would question the dealership as to whether they had an Allocation for a ZL1. I bet they did not.
Mine took about 3 months.

I ordered in January of 2019. But I’m betting your dealer didn’t have an Allocation.I ordered from John Bear in Hamilton. I was specific that I wanted a 1LE. That actually matters as they build more ZL1s than 1LE models. So be specific if you want a 1LE. You may wanna do an online search or have your dealer do one. Check back with your dealer and ask if they have an Allocation. They will likely have to contact the district sales manager and he finds out I think on Thursdays.

Almost guaranteed the dealer didn't have an allocation. ZL1's are available in Canada but you will have to travel to pick up or have it shipped. 1LE's well.... good luck as i've been waiting 6months for an allocation and no such luck. Hoping for my card to be drawn for a 2024 at this point and that's looking not so good either.

As of yesterday I'm at 163 day at 1100 for a ZL1 (not 1le) out of a dealer on Vancouver Island. At this point I am kind of hoping that the order doesn't get picked up until next model year. If that happens I can hopefully modify the order into a collectors edition.

The problem is there is absolutely no guarantee for 1) order conversion to the new model year, since it isn't an automatic process, 2) the dealership getting an allocation for a limited 2024 collector's edition that is already highly sought after, or that 3) even if they do get an allocation, they will want to burn it on your old order instead of picking up a hefty chunk of ADM from a new buyer...

Think about it, if they couldn't get your order moving a single inch in 4 months, with you being priority #1, how much of a chance you have if you stay with them at this point. Hope is not a strategy unfortunately, I wish it were, but it just isn't.

Does the order get canceled when they quit taking orders for 2023's in 5 - 8 weeks from now? The salesman indicated that it would just get rolled over to a 2024, and I would be first in line. The dealer has gotten allocation for camaro's, just not a ZL1 yet. I'm not sure how that works, maybe due to missing parts to build the ZL1, but then other guys are getting them built in less time, so I doubt that is the case.

You should post a question about this in the order tracking thread where dealership employees (also) congregate. My lay understanding is that the dealer has to manually cancel your 2023 MY order (otherwise it will just sit at 1100 literally forever) and create a new 2024 MY order with identical contents.

The reason for them not getting ZL1 allocations should not be your problem to solve, I just brought this up as it reduces the statistical probability of you ultimately getting a 2023, let alone a 2024 ZL1. I'd reach out to the dealership and request a clarification at the very least, but much more likely try and find other dealerships to work with.

I placed an order for a convertible ZL1 M6 Riverside Blue in July 2022.

The order was approved but it sat for months with no movement.

While daydreaming about it, I went to the Chevrolet site to see if any dealers around the country had anything similar, and I found exactly what I wanted in Iowa.

I cancelled my order, got my deposit back, and bought the car in Iowa.

Look around.

^True. I also have a zl1 on order OP, but i'm in Vancouver, at three different dealers since December. There are currently no new zl1's showing up for me on chevy's site (it doesn't show a big distance range on canada's site) and if i was to guess there are probably only a handful across the country, which are most likely spoken for.

Jealous of your location and the opportunity of ripping a new ZL1 down the Inland Autobahn to Nanaimo or Hwy 28 into Gold River.

Carry on...
