I went from Michigan/Pennsylvania to California and now Texas. I don’t miss those winters at all and I’m still young. Making money in the oil field made me put up with heat of the south. Now I’m in Corpus and I doubt I’d ever go back to a norther state. Nothing like cruising all year around by the ocean. The cooling feature on the seats is plenty for me as well.

Ahh. Peltier thermoelectric cooler. Like a minisplit for your seat! Only difference is it dumps the heat back into the cabin instead of outside.

yeah, I'd want a way to get the heat sink outside the cabin. I assume there'd be no use in ever running it backwards unless you wanted warm air to blow on you in cold conditions in addition to the resistor wires.

If I remember correctly, Peltier effect transistors can only create a fixed temperature delta, like 35 degrees F, between hot and cold sides. So if you sinked your hotside into atmosphere at 105 degrees you'd get maybe 70 degree air blowing out. If it was cold, like 20 degrees outside, no way I'd want 55 degree air blowing on me.

I know, right? First thing the tint guy asked me while doing the job was why I waited so long, heh.

Wasn't in the scheme of things but we became caregivers for my 91 yo MIL that has dementia.

Saw a lot of northerners move into Florida and move out after one summer. Polar bears can't handle the heat. We'd laugh when they'd walk out of the house and their glasses would fog up because they keep the house so cold. I ran the warehouse (hands-on) for a document shredding company in Sanford FL the last 5 years I worked before retiring. Anyway it would hit 110° in the afternoon in there. So what I'm getting at, I'm built for hot weather. We still keep the house a/c at 78° even since moving north.

Looking at the wiring, it's probably easy to wire up the basic features. Making the thermostat work would probably be very difficult or not at all. But I honestly don't know.

Looks to work similar to a 12v cooler, which uses 2-3 different pieces of metal, which, when charged, produce either heat or cold.

When I was still driving a big truck, my 12v cooler would actually freeze my water bottles.

"Thermoelectric 12v Cooler
Thermoelectric coolers are another relatively affordable alternative to true 12v fridges. And while they’re more efficient at keeping food cool than an electrically assisted cooler, they won’t keep your ice frozen.

These types of coolers use Peltier technology to keep things cool. It works like this: When you run an electrical current through two dissimilar metals, heat is transferred from one to the other. Like with a compressor and gas refrigerant, heat is removed from the surrounding area, cooling the interior. A 12v thermoelectric cooler’s walls are filled with tiny Peltier cubes that prevent the interior of your cooler from warming up."

What about just hooking up a tube to the floor AC port on each side by the driver and passenger feet and running it to the seat intake? The car is blowing cold air down low, just not in the right spot.

I agree though - AC is 10x better than vented. I was bummed when they got rid of it.
