USB ports

Are the USB ports in the center console hot all the time or ignition switched on? I'm thinking of using one for a dash cam and I only want it on when driving. I'm not concerned with parking monitoring because it sits alot.

Going off memory - they are not always on. They will stay on for a little while after you turn the engine off etc. I'm sure there's an exact routine someone could elaborate on but basically I think they stay on as long as the cabin lights are on or the car is locked etc (maybe a little while after too but def not always on).

They are on a 30 or maybe 60-second timer on key off, definitely not powered continuously. (I have a wireless Android Auto device plugged into one of the USB ports; monitoring its activity once the car is shut down, I saw it also lost power after this timeout.)

Thanks @LTfun @arpad_m

I have an older roav that I'm thinking of using on the Camaro and o don't want to hardwire because I'm not sure how much life is in it. I don't have it wifi connected and when I did a quick test the other day it was on after the car was shut off and and the screen would go off but it does even if it is recording. Just don't want a dead battery from it. I certainly can unplug but I suspect I'll forget. Shoot, I walk into rooms now and forget why I did.

Anyone know how much current the USB port in the center console supports?

Well, it's definitely not supporting 2A, lol. Charger would run for about 2sec, then shutdown and retry about 5-10sec later.
