We typically see 11-12% drivetrain loss on a manual Camaro, it is about right where we would expect it to be. Maybe a smidge high, but that error is negligible from air quality, dyno cal, etc. We see the baselines range from 395 to 415 on these

Awesome build! That Anderson Carbon hood is sweet! Do you have heat shielding underneath? I assume you will be putting front hood latches on it? I will be interested in seeing how that goes...I am considering the same hood.

Thanks, will be posting pics here shortly! As for underneath, we're trying to use a high temp/heat resistant clear coat and see how it holds up. And yeah, ordered front hood latches as well, although have heard/seen others with good success on track using just the factory hood latch and struts.

Best regards,
Dave

Why did you swap to those intake valves?

Put a high ram on it and let it breath!

Love the build, you have my dream exhaust setup.

Are you going to be running a diffuser? Never mind I reread the the first post

Lighter valves help keep the valve train in check at high RPM.

Is that or is it risk from the valve breaking off the stem?

We haven't had any issues with factory LT1 valves breaking with a stable valvetrain. The factory intake valve is actually quite heavy, so it requires a little more spring and a little softer of a cam ramp to keep it under control. For more aggressive combinations that want to also improve durability, you have to go lighter on the valve side. This will allow you to run a more aggressive camshaft lobe as well as needing less spring to control everything.

Long story short, it is always beneficial to reduce reciprocating mass on the valve side of the equation. It will allow you to run a lot less spring + save every other component from excessive abuse wear

The lightweight or OEM valves breaking? Ill add that the lightweight valves from Katech are also titanium/molybdenum which has a better strength/weight ratio compared to steel (assuming thats what the OEM valves are made of).

Thanks guys! Been working on logistics to get vehicle picked up and off to Penske Rapid Repair for Anderson Composite Carbon Fiber items, along with tailored rear bumper for the center exit exhaust. Also working with ProParts USA on MCS Double Adjustable w/ Remote reservoirs, along with a miriad of other items to try and get done before 2/25 and we plan to head to Thunderhill the week of the 28th for Optima's Ultimate Street Car first event of the season.

Will continue to share updates as we progress with the build. Can't wait to get her out on track!

Best regards,
Dave
