Brake interlock; irritating
This I just found out about today putting miles on my car. (210) You must depress the brake in order to start the car. Irritating. My ‘17 didn’t require this. I was pulling away from a stop light and stalled it. Rolling about 10 mph and couldn’t restart the car by simply depressing the clutch! (As I could in my ‘17) I had to press the brake (& stop) to restart! Why? Not very safe. Has anyone heard of a bypass for this? So far this is the only thing on my new car that I hate. Any input on some type of bypass on this would be highly appreciated.

10 mph?
Let clutch out in gear, engine should restart.

Oh, it gets worse…the Blackwing requires you to step on the brake and the clutch to start the car. Attorneys.

It's apparently the same, not worse, with newer Camaros. Brake and clutch always. On the auto, pressing the brake and having the trans in P has always been required, those can't be restarted in neutral at all, now the manuals have "caught up"

Wow. I've never stalled it and then had the car rolling at 10mph. How did you manage this?

Number one, I know I shouldn’t stall it, but crap happens. I had to stop. Annoying. I only thought about a roll start later. I used to “push start” my old GTI many times but not these big boys…never had to. Like you guys said, lawyers seem to be far too influential on the general operational performance of new vehicles. This really takes away from the enjoyment of these machines, just like the 1-4 shift lock-out. I really want that gone as well! Anyone know of a “cheat” on this? I just go 1-3 if I’m just slowly pulling away…

Skip shift eliminator, plugs into the harness at the trans. You still get the dash notification, but shifting is uninterrupted.

Skip shift eliminator? Wow, sounds like a “must have” mod. Please elaborate, where can I pick one up? If I can make its drivability “normal”, I’m all in! Thanks in advance, JM
