This Was a Near Miss? Very Lucky!
The power just came back on. A/C !!
The other side is that we had ~70+ MPH winds for 3 hours or so last night. Power went down about 7:00PM. No damage, but we were very lucky. 40,000 plus without power in Lafayette Parish. Trees and power polls have been snapped. There was not as much rain and we were lucky in that the ground was not saturated. That would have led to a lot more tree and power poll damage. Roof damage is likely wide spread. The poor folks to west of us were hit harder. This Cat2 packed a long lasting and wider punch than many, including me, expected. Lake Charles took two punches in just a couple of weeks.

Good to hear your alright!
I have family about 45 minutes North of Lake Charles. They said so much trash still piled up from the last hit where worried about all the extra debris.

I can't imagine two hurricanes in six weeks.
The story about the mosquitos killing the animals after Laura still gives me nightmares. Glad you made it through, good luck with the aftermath.
