i'm not a ZL1 but i use TRACK (has the best throttle response) and traction control completely off, as long as you have a good tire you should hook and perform real well.

For everyday driving, my car stays in Sport, and I simply use that. No need to change modes or even turn off TC. The TC is pretty aggressive on these cars and will allow a decent amount of tire spin without shutting down for a second. The only time it has ever shut me down is when it slides sideways a bit, but you shouldn't slide sideways from a 40 roll. Probably shouldn't even spin if you're still stock, unless the tires are cold or have too much air. I usually run 27-29 psi for everyday driving.
If you have an auto, this is what I do. Get to the desired speed, as long as you're above 30, blip the throttle all the way to the floor really quick. The car will go into performance shift mode and drop to the best gear to accelerate from at that particular speed. Then pull the shifter toward you into manual mode and wait for the go signal. As soon as you go, push the shifter back to auto.

Is there any type of traction assistance though when you hold the TC button while in track and everything goes off? I thought stabilitrack was still kinda a nannies mode.. or so lol I just don't wanna end up in a wall.

If you hold until all is off (both TC and SC lights on) there is nothing but your foot and steering wheel to keep you out of the wall. If you want some stability control incase you get sideways, just push the TC button once. That will let it spin freely unless the car gets a bit sideways. True for any mode. Tour, Sport, Track.

It depends on what dress you wear while you roll race.
Make sure you have matching heels like the rest of the ladies.

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't TC ON only limit power proportional to tire traction? Meaning if you turn it off you'll spin in a lower gear at full throttle but if you leave TC on it will only limit the power just enough to get you rolling and once you're no longer likely to spin the full power returns?
I mean if that's the only harm TC will have. Limit power until you hook then is it a bad thing?

Roll racing is kttxz06's bread and butter...and his Z is over 1100 RWHP. He could give you some pointers.
