Caramic/PPF and miscellaneous interior discussion.

Just got my car back from getting GTechniq ceramic coating and some Xpel PPF done. It turned out amazing, everyone knows a black car sucks to try and keep looking good so I went to a well known detailer in my area. This is the second time I’ve used him and his work always exceeds expectations. If anyone in the MN area wants the info on my detailer shoot me a PM.

I bought Chevy’s black trim kit for the door. Why in the hell did they not make it with the clear stripe down the middle of it so you could still see the interior lights? Also why in the hell would they design it so you have to take the entire door card off to change it? I may be sending it back (if I can) and just keep the stock silver etc.

I’ve seen fake CF overlays for that piece that keeps the light option visible on the doors. Does anyone know if they make just solid colors somewhere for that piece? I guess I could by the CF pieces and just paint them solid black. I ‘m going to get the red knee pad/door trim kit when they come back in stock. I’d like to keep the red/black theme going.

I’m also one of the few that can’t stand the stock alcantara steering wheel. I should be getting my custom leather steering wheel from Wildhammer soon and will post pics of that when installed.

That looks as amazing as your garage! Nice! Plus an MR2? I love my alcantara anything lol. I am going to do my own ceramic coating in a couple weekends.

I wish that was my garage, that’s his work space he runs his business out of. Also that’s his MR2, which is very cool. He replaced the original four with a Toyota V6, it’s a manual to! He was showing it to me and it actually fits really well back there.

I'm surprised you didn't go with the carbon fiber one in the top with the lights lol. That looks nice though.

That is cool, I love when people do that to old school cars.

Nope, just wanted it a little thicker (that’s what she said) and leather. Not a fan of the CF steering wheels, I feel like they’d be even more slippery than the current one.

Beautiful car and garage. I also dislike alcantara, and got a Wildhammer CF wheel with leather. I also bought SS leather door cards and colored the grey stitching with a red sharpie - because I really don't like alcantara.

As an alternative, you could have the metal in the door hydro-dipped with a CF pattern. I did it on the shift bezel, and it turned out great.

They look silver in that pic but are the stock color.

I just hate the feel of it and always found it slippery without driving gloves. I also dislike how thin the steering wheel is. It’s the only one to ever give me slight pain in my palm. Not sure why that is. It’s also the only thing I truly dislike about the car.
