2022 custom order questions

Good afternoon all, just pulled the trigger on my 1st car and due to the shortages figured it would be best to make it the way I wanted 100%, got a 2022 rs 3lt v6 ordered about 3 weeks ago and although I know it will probably be 3-6 months before delivery, just wanted to see how many 22 v6 have been ordered and how long have you been waiting, thanks in advance for any input

I think you have ordered everything that is on constraint right now. Did your dealer warn you that it may be a long, long time for that order??

This.

This order will become a 2023 before it'll be a 2022 I think.

I mean if the order does take that long I wouldn't mind a 23 as long as I can still get the same features and customizations but dont want my wait to start all over again

They will convert the order to a '23 if the wait stretches past the end of the '22 model year production. You shouldn't have to start over.

I guess that's not to bad, but I was reading 23 orders will start in August im hoping this order won't take that long, been seeing 22 3lts and v6s being delivered around my area just not alot so hoping that means production is ramping up

Its not automatic. The order is cancelled and re-done.

Being allocation priority 1 at your dealership is not the same thing as an allocation from GM.
Your dealership will need allocation from GM before the order is accepted.
Some dealers get allocation more frequent than others. This is partially due to past history of vehicle sales (ie: if your dealer historically sells a lot of camaros, they'll likely get more allocation than a dealer that does not).

I believe there have been some folks on the forum still waiting for their dealer to get allocation for a '22.
If your dealer is estimating 2-3 months. It would be good to know if that 2-3 months is their estimate for receiving allocation from GM. Because it is not predictable on what constraints will be in place 2-3 months from now. So your dealer might get allocation in 2-3 months. But if there's a constraint on your order (check constraints thread), then your vehicle won't get picked up.

Ya you basically ordered everything that is routinely constrained, the V6 has been constrained severely and repeatedly, you won't get a 22, more like a 23 given this late time in the cycle, and to the best of all of us in the know it'll get cancelled, it won't roll over to a 23, it has to be done over from scratch.

Too you're dealer isn't very smart.

Yeah unfortunately I didn't see anything on the constraints until after I ordered, and either way I do want a camaro, the only cars I really see this dealer get are camaros and has a few in transit just no v6s, so hoping it will get picked up once parts are available or if it does take till 23 season ill mostlikely be able to get more car at that time so no rush right now just want it as fast as possible and um sure everyone can understand that lol

Yup, you will simply need to be patient. Realize there is a possibility that the vehicle won't make the '22 model cycle. If it does not, then you'll need to make sure your dealer re-submits the order for '23 model year.
If your patience starts to run out by then, you can always start searching nationwide for what is close to the build you want

I placed an order for a ZL1, took ~6 months for it to get accepted and built. Now I'm waiting for it to get shipped to dealer. For me, the wait will be worth getting the car exactly how I want it.

Im trying to think like that, and would prefer my cutom car than one close to perfect just hard since this is my 1st car lol but I did expect to wait at least 3 months so still no rush but by then I might be ordering a 23 if im still at 1100
