Wow!!!

Just checked the door sill tag for the build date on my new ZLE. Just delivered last week, yet showing a build date of 11/21!!

It sat needing final parts, I’m guessing the PDR and CF spoiler, for all those months. My 2018 ZLE was also built in November. But I got it in February of ‘18!! An amazing delay, but still very glad to have it. Absolutely the best American car I’ve ever owned!!

Good luck to all of you still pending deliveries. It was worth the wait!!

Interesting… My ZLE was built in January 2022, and delivered (in Texas) beginning of February. I do have both PDR and CF spoiler, plus CF dash, so allegedly those were not the hold up.

Unless, GM decided to continue building new cars while trying to figure out how to handle cars missing parts… (rather than delaying even more cars, I mean)

Likely that we’ll never know

Any effect on your summer tires having sat in the presumably open air freezing temps all winter?

Contacted GM today and was told that my 22 order is now at status code 2030 - ORDER EDITED BY GM. What does that mean??

Hello there, I can't speak of other tires, but for ZL1 1LE tires, the SC3Rs, they are very much affected by being exposed to freezing weather.

Case in point, my car was picked up late January in Lansing, MI and delivered to Greenville, TX a few days later. They had very cold weather at that time, and sure enough all 4 tires had major cracks

Thankfully the dealership worked with GM very quickly to have them replaced at GM's cost $$$$, before I picked it up.

It should be easy enough for you (or your dealer ahead of time?) to inspect all 4 tires for any crack.

The code just means something was edited on the order.

2030, Order re-edited (if necessary) (This is simply an edit code showing that something on your order has been changed. It does not mean your order has been accepted to production and really does not mean anything beyond your previous status other than a change has been made.)

Status code 2030 is a special code that indicates that they just edited your order in the system. It does NOT indicate any kind of progress. So if your status history says 1100, 1102, 2030, 2030, 2030, you need to ignore those 2030 entries because your status is really 1100/1102.

Thank you. I heard back from my dealer about this. He said that GM is not making any more 22 ZL1s. He said they will still build me an SS 1le if I want it, or I can switch to a 23 zl1. Normally, this would be fine and I'd take the 23, but I really wanted Satin Steel and that option is gone now.

I don’t see anything immediately visible as far as sidewalls cracking. I’m going to keep an eye on them. My ‘18’s SC3’s only lasted about 5k miles on the high heat of the SoCal desert streets. I’ll be replacing them with PS4’s when they’re gone! I’m a bit concerned about the battery life as well, although no problems have shown up yet. I only have 850 miles on it anyway! It’ll be driven about 3k-4k miles a year.

I’m not noticing any off-idle stumbling like my ‘18 had. A Mamo TB really helped the’18, but I don’t think this ‘22 will need that. Loving this car!! I really missed the best close ratio manual trans out there!!!

I doubt that the 23s will become entirely unavailable anytime soon.

With that said, assuming I did just switch to a 23 order and sub the sharkskin (hesitant to do that without ever seeing one in person or in actual pictures), I wonder when it would actually arrive...September?

I just ordered a half pint of Sharkskin to do a spray out before I order it. Color code for mixing is WA130H if you want to see the color in person.

Yep. Gotta 2020 SS next door with the discontinued color so will do the spray out and photo the 2 colors side by side.
