New Order

Just left the dealership. Wife ordered a new Blazer RS. I have a 21 2SS 1LE, but want a ZL1. Asked about a ZL1 order and couldn't get a clear answer for a timeframe. He said the Blazer should 8-12 weeks. Anyone order a Camaro recently (especially ZL1) and have any real info on wait times. He also said that GM is now trying to prioritize customer ordered cars (but that did come from the salesman lol). And how these salesman are surviving these days is beyond me. Maybe 20-25 new cars on the lot. 6 or 7 sales people. The GM and sales manager are there. But we were the only customers.

I was told 2022 ZL1 1LE's would not deliver for 6-9 months and some of the features may not work due to chip shortages...

So happy someone canceled on the 2021 i picked up last minute!!!

Tough time to be in the market!

There has been a lot of constraints on ZL1 and 2SS, as well as a few other options. All of which making delivery timeframe quite unpredictable, even if a dealer has allocation.

Yes constraints on ZL1 in some form or fashion have been common and that leads in to reduced allocations to dealers, I'm 5 months in to a ZL1 order with no end in sight. Ive not heard about actually prioritizing "sold" orders, which mine is input as. Makes sense but I've not heard that or any kind of confirmation.

I would almost bet that right now if you put in an order you won't get it, it'll end up cancelled as 2023 production starts up in May or Jun if I'm not mistaken and the old orders are historically being cancelled and you have to reinput a 23 order, they don't simply roll over to the new model year.

All-in-All if you want a ZL1 you're in the 6 to, more likely 9 months wait time.

Thanks for the input. It sucks. It sounds like when ordered the @SS 1LE last FEB. and it did not arrive until Sept.

I’ve been waiting 9.5 months for my ZL1 vert order. GM isn’t prioritizing sold orders in my opinion as there are lots of dealer inventory Camaro’s out there. They seem to be prioritizing high volume Camaro dealer orders whether it’s a sold order or dealer inventory.

Ordered a ZL1 the first week of December. There is now a VIN and I'm hoping in about another 10-14 days I'll be picking it up. No PDR, no 1LE, no sunroof, red kneepads, and I thought I ordered the red seatbelts, but apparently I didn't.

Oh and I also ordered the upgraded headunit, which just adds navigation.

Feeling your pain Canuck brother. We have it way worse in Canada compared to the US. I'm now at 218 days since order - still at 1100. The day I receive the text that I have a TPW will be a monumental occasion. The wait is well worth the pain!

I am going to follow up with my salesman on Feb 8th and I am pretty confident I will still be at 3000. My salesman said it might be May before my order shows up.

Did you order your car from a high volume Camaro dealer and its a ZLE right?

Maybe my order was just a perfect storm.....ordered in October, dealer had an allocation, built in November delivered week before Christmas.....also ordered at another dealer in October, they still didn't get an allocation in December, so I cancelled and got that deposit back on that one.
