2018 2ss 1le with PDR - Good Deal?
Hello all,
Looking to buy my first Camaro in 25 years and rejoin the club! So I’m here to seek your guidance and wisdom. I’ve found my unicorn, a hyper blue 2ss with PDR. The MSRP is 52K and they are asking 44K. At this point I don’t qualify for any incentives currently offered. My question is how much lower will I be able to push them? A 20% discount would be around 41,500, should I shoot for that? They are a very large volume store. In the end I’m willing to pay the price as it’s the exact car I am looking for, but I have to get a good deal or I’ll feel dirty Thanks for you time |

I would say that 44k is probably the best deal you are gonna find and I'd take it and run.

Thanks Lithias.
I read about people getting 20% off all the time. Why do you think it's a good deal? The color/option combo? It is pretty rare, I only see about 10 nationwide. |

The rarity and the fact that it's about 8k off sticker which is better than supplier discount and employee pricing....

I think you're right about being a good deal. Spent all day (phone and text) trying to get the price lower, they wouldn't budge. I found the same car for $440 less and they wouldn't do that. Gonna call 3 other dealers tomorrow and hit them all at the same price and I'll do the deal if one goes for it. If not I may end up back at the original dealer begging for floor mats

My only hesitation would be, why not wait until2019 and see if they get more motivated to sell the 18s? But I also know the gotta have it now feeling !

I could have waited, but there are only about 10 hyper blue 2ss with PDR that I can find in the united states.
I was able to talk another dealer down some so I think I'm gong to do the deal. MSRP $51,905, got them down to 43K. Basically a 17 percent discount on a hard to find vehicle, I think I can live with that. |

We should be signing paperwork and doing a deposit tomorrow. The car is out of state, i'm in California, car is in Illinois. Probably be around 10 days until I physically have it.
I know where there is another good deal on the same vehicle. If anyone is interested I can give you contact info. After losing my deal this other dealer they may come down some more. |

Paying $43,000 or $44,000 for a $52,000 MSRP vehicle means that you are saving more than I did on a very similar car. Even when stacking the $2,000 retail incentive (offered in September) with my GM employee discount, I received approximately $7,200 off of the $53,000 MSRP vehicle I ordered 6/01/2018. My local dealer persuaded me to order the '18 because of the odd look of the '19 SS front fascia, so they had to "priority 1" the order to get it built, as '18 order cutoff date already had passed. I'm very pleased with my vehicle & the deal... As another point of reference, my local dealer has a Garnet Red 1SS/1LE, which stickers for $46,000, marked down to $38,000. I'm told that's the final markdown. I hope you are successful in securing that great pricing. Best wishes & ENJOY!

Thanks for all the replies.
I ended up closing the deal and giving a deposit. We settled on 43K, which was $8905 off. In the end I could have kept up the hunt and saved a little more, but at some point your time is not worth it. I do think you're right, the bottom for a 2ss is 42/43K and a 1ss 38K. What amazing deals on these great cars. We are fedex'ing paperwork back and forth this week, doing a wire transfer, and hope to ship it by the end of the week and have it before the New Year. |
