Camaro 2012 RS recurrent oil leak
Hi everybody,
From Montreal Canada. I have a beautiful 2012 camaro RS (6 cylinders). 92000 kms. Not driving much during winter. She's my baby I want her to be my last car (I'm 56) In Mai 2014, the front cover was leaking oil. It was repaired under warranty. In Mai 2019, same problem, it was repaired but cost me 1500 Canadian $. And now, April 2021, same problem again. Between Mai 2019 and now I drove 11000 kms. The car was always maintained by a GM dealer, and the 3 repairs were done at the same dealer. Did anybody experienced the same problem ? Was it fixed ? Any advice or opinion will be appreciated. I don't know what to do. The other camaro V6 owner I know never had that problem, his car is 170000 kms. The dealer tells me it is not common but not so rare, I am unlucky. One friend who knows about mechanics suspects there is an underlying problem that may blow up. anytime, I should give up, repair and sell the car asap. It looks like it is a complex repair, maybe it was not done properly. Note that I advised GM. She's not under warranty so they can't do anything but a nice lady is trying to deal something with the dealer. TY BR |

excess crankcase pressure? i believe in 2013 the PCV valve was redesigned with bigger holes, there is a thread about it and how to modify your existing PCV valve if needed,or you could get a later PCV valve.keep in mind im more used to the older models but this is my theory,it could be worth looking into.
