What is to much? Vs What is Tasteful (Opinions)

So I'm always interested in peoples taste relative to Carbon Fiber parts for their cars. I think CF is beautiful and always have, BUT I do believe their is a tipping point when it's to much and actually starts to sort of detract or even cheapen the car. So my ZLE obviously came with some CF and I added a few select pieces, but I think I'm done. Ten years ago I would have gone overboard for sure.

What is everyones opinion on CF pieces?

1. You can never get enough?

2. You like a little tastefully done?

3. You don't like it at all?

4. If it doesn't make you faster who cares?

As a functional replacement for a heavy part, it's good. As a decoration over a heavy part, it's a little goofy.

I would swap my 1LE for a ZL1 if possible. Thought I would like all the CF, but not so much.

My 2017 ZL1 has the exposed carbon fiber hood insert and that’s enough for me. Some suggested that I should order a carbon fiber dash insert but I have decided to keep the suede one.

Yea I like the suede inserts in the inside much better

On the exterior I prefer the gloss black accents but with the carbon hood insert I want to do a carbon wing to match but keep the lower black splitter, rockers and diffuser. I feel thats the most carbon I can live with, too much just for looks is ugly.

I've got a decent amount of carbon fiber on my black vert, but I'm trying to stay within that "tasteful" range as well. I've got c7carbon's CF splitter and rockers, Borla S-type CF axleback, and car is at the shop getting an Anderson Composites CF (non ZLE) spoiler installed. I think that's about as far as I can go without it being too much. I had considered a hood and diffuser, but the diffuser is a no go since I already have the carbon exhaust tips, and I feel like any more CF than the shaker on the hood is too much.

external? naked carbon fiber looks tacky ... There's no way around that. And almost all of it is non-functional considering the aluminum parts it generally replaces on our cars.

Carbon fiber accents inside ....where there would have otherwise traditionally been some chromey looking plastic, is good. That looks somewhat classy (more refined than chrome plastic).

Mmm....I'm weird. We have some race vehicles and a couple are almost completely CF, except roof panels and a couple of bits. But get this....its all painted. (Gasp)

I think it's pretty tho and a few accents can be attractive just as as long as there is no double stick tape involved.

It depends on the car imo. A beautiful car like a McLaren 720s or the like shouldn't be touched. However, a base Camaro is....sorry to say....not very attractive in stock guise and needs all the help it can get😁. Unless I'm the only guy that bought this car in spite of the way it looks, not because of it, in which case forget what I just said lol.

lt also depends on the color for me. CF on black doesn't stand out much and you can do a lot, whereas against white or certain other colors it sticks out like a sore thumb and looks ricey.

Carbon fiber hood extractor = I like it. If I could get a 1SS 1LE spoiler, in CF and keep all the other options my current spoiler has, I’d do it.

Other than those two items, I wouldn’t add more bit and pieces.
