Also a belly pan would help as well with keeping the air from entering the engine compartment an puts it back to about mid way of the bell housing.

it makes you wonder why GM would install the rear hood seal if all it does is cost them money to do so.is thee any benefit to having it?

Speeds warm up time in cold weather, noise dampening, prevents fluids on windshield

Fluids on the windshield is probably the main reason, I would guess anyway.

I always like visual aids. As earlier mentioned, the belly pan keeps lower air flow moving under then out and away.

I have an on track over heating problem I can't figure out, thats the main reason I bought the hood. I'm happy to hear of the added benefit of extra cooling by removing the strip. Now I really can't wait for the next track day!

Did the same thing with the GTO's.....removing/partially removing rear weather strip. One of the first things I did when I got the Camaro.

Is it the rubber gasket that lies below and in the back of the hood you remove? The one mounted on the edge by the cowl wall

There are threads out there on how to do the hood vent on your ‘10. You just have to be willing to cut the hole in the hood.

Hood vent
