back bumper cover.what holds it in place?

i was tapped in the rear bumper by another car a couple of days ago.other than a divot in the rear diffuser and the fact that the bumper cover moves inward about 1/4 inch when i push on it the car is ok,no paint damage on the bumper cover or anywhere else what holds the center of the bumper cover on the actual bumper?car is going into a collision shop tomorrow where it will be inspected for any other damage and repaired as needed at the other drivers insurance companys expense.

Clips and screws I would think. At least, that's how it's held on with my car.

Yep, plastic clips across the top and clips and screws along the sides. Also when you push in on the cover it will push in about that much until it hits the crash bar behind it, mine does.

Here you go. Literally the easiest bumper cover I’ve ever removed. Remove the clips above the taillights, remove the covers and unplug the tail light wires. 3wheel liner screws and one at the bumper edge. Then pry back the edges and pull from the rear.

If it is just the diffuser, then you won't need to take the entire bumper cover off, just put it up on a rack so you can get to all the clips and such, did mine twice. Good luck

I got hit by a guy while driving my Cruze that had Geico. I went through his company for everything and it was the best insurance experience I have ever had. They made it very easy.
