Where can you tap a vacuum line to read boost for meth install

Adding meth and need a accurate boost source for the controller. I assume I can install an "T" at the boost solenoid but dont know which line to tie in to. Any help would be great!

I really have no idea, but I’d want to run a MAF based meth system on this car. Boost referenced is great for a centrifugal blower that has linear boost, but for a PD blower not so much. Unless your controller can read RPM as well to regulate meth flow — otherwise a MAF reference would be a better choice in my opinion.

A guy from Snow Performance told me exactly the opposite, that is why I just went with a boost controlled system. I am a total rookie when it comes the methanol injection. If there is something that I should or should not be using that can be backed up by facts then please give me advise. Do not want to do anything twice.

Thanks

Tap into the line going to brake booster. Or any other vacuum line coming off the SC.

I wasn’t aware that Snow had a MAF based controller. But either way, having a boost based control logic for meth flow with a PD style blower doesn’t make a ton of sense. They work by cranking up methanol flow in relation to boost. You can usually set a turn on point (ie 3 psi), then it’s going to increase flow as boost rises. A PD blower (like our TVS) makes an almost flat boost curve. That means that meth flow isn’t going to increase much with engine airflow. These engines pretty much make the same boost everywhere. Using only boost to control the system is a little like having an old school (not progressive) system.

This comes from building and tuning a number of cars with methanol myself. The boost regulated system worked great on my Vortech build — but there boost and airflow are linked to RPM. As revs go up, so does boost. It continues to climb until redline. Ours do not.

I would at least get a few more opinions before proceeding. Alky Control has been the leader in the Vette world for a long time. I think a lot of Camaro shops use them as well. That’s who I’d ask.

I just took a look at all of Snow’s offerings. I was wrong, and they do offer a MAF based system. They even mention that it’s best suited for positive displacement superchargers.

Which system did you get? I see they also have a stage 3 system that uses the fuel pressure sensor signal for DI engines. In conjunction with a MAP sensor, that could be a decent option. Though I still think MAF regulation will give you better metering.

Thank you for your help. Doing more research before I hook anything up. What I ordered was their stage one system. I was on the phone with one of their sales guys when I did it. I also have talked to Rodney the owner of ProMeth. He says stage one is a good setup for my build, only thing he suggested was different nozzles since I will be running 8 through the NX lid. I ordered ProMeth's direct port hard line kit to do the install on the lid.

Will be straight lining it once i decide on tires for my racestars that just arrived.

I have been considering doing the SCCA track day at PIR on April 13th. A guy i know is really pushing me to get on that one and it sounds like a blast.

now that my car is "done" from my winter upgrades, i am anxious to start playing.
