I've been working with the Factory Reproductions team on a new square setup for my 2017 ZL1.

This is one of the options I was given.
Suggestions/Thoughts/Will it fit?

20X10 5X120 +23 HB 66.9 CAMARO Z28 STYLE 27

275/40/20 tires

I'm looking at all-seasons due to my long commute.
Summer tires will not hold up due to 120~miles a day
So longevity, wet traction, and all around stability on the highway are desired.

I don't think a 275/40 will fit up front. It's too tall, you will need to run 275/35 or some 285/35s clear and there are some threads on here if you search.

I ran a 275/35 on the front no problem, I do think a 40 just off the cuff of it sounds a little tall.

275/40/20 diameter is too big...275/35/20 is what would be close enough to work

Believe me I have looked for hours, days even, at different tire and wheel sizes and combination threads.
Most dilute to opinion instead of fact unfortunately or just plain fail to list specifics or what actually works.

It would be easier if there weren't so many options.
The amount of choice and variation is mind numbing.

The 275/40's did seem awfully tall in my mind as well.
I'll start looking at 275/285/35's.

Keep in mind the OEM sizing is 285/30.


And that gets close to the shock tower already.
Taking chances with a different sidewall aspect.

So this is part of the problem i've been running into.
Some people say one thing, some another.

With the ZL1, magride, and the wheels I listed, what is a for sure fit for a square setup?

Why not a 295/30/20? It’s only .4” wider in the front and .4” narrower in the rear. Seems like a better balance.

I'm open to all suggestions actually.
So if that size works for the wheels i'm not against that option.

Most of what i've been running into is lack of all season options for certain sizes. And I'd love to just keep the factory wheels but I have to be able to rotate due to the miles driven.

Keep the suggestions coming!

So after much searching, I think i'm going to try out the Bridgestone Potenza RE980AS: 295/30/20 upfront and 305/30/20 in the rear.
Anyone run this setup?
Only a/s that's 305/30/20 that I can find with a close to matching front.

I've had these as our winter setup since last year on our ZL1. We don't drive the ZL1 when it snows (and we don't get a lot anyway), but temps get low enough that summer tires are a no-go. No fitment problems on stock wheels with stock suspension.

The RE980AS doesn't perform like a summer tire, but you can still reach imprudent speeds before they start to give up lateral grip. Straight line traction is nothing to write home about either, but much better than the Goodyears when it's cold, wet or both. Better ride, too...

I'm hoping the new Michelin A/S being developed for the C8 will be made in ZL1 sizes, as the 'Stones are the only non-summer tire currently available that will fit a stock wheel front and rear.

Would you consider going down to 19"? Apex makes some 19" bolt-on square setups. Will run 285/35 or 275/40 tires.

Chiming in from Colorado. I just put these on mine, getting ready for the cold weather. For a DD they seem to do OK so far. Will know in a few weeks what they are like in really cold and light snow
