Jus Cruisin, can you tell me why you would choose a C7 [Grand Sport] over the Camaro [2SS 1LE]? Why is it "not even close"?

My 2021 LT1 seemed to handle as good as my three base C6's. Only reason i like the Vettes better is the size. The LT1 was just too big for my taste but was much better than a 2015 GT Stang when it came to power and down low grunt.

The 2015 Z51 C7 handles like a dream. I always like small cars and trucks. I would love a Miata if it had real power. Needs at least 300hp before i would buy one.

I never really wanted a C7 in the first place, nothing about it appeals to me particularly, but this was the final straw that seared the biggest, most emphatic "NO" into my brain. I would take a 2024, or even a leftover 2023 2SS 1LE any day over the Grand Sport (then do a ZL1 front and pre-refresh rear bumper conversion) and be on my merry way.
It is like getting into a hole when i get in my Vettes. I got no pains anywhere on my body and it is a work out to get out in the garage as the door won't open all the way.

+1... Also wondering why the OP is only considering a 3+ year old C7 or a new 2024 SS. Why not a lightly used ZL1? My money would be on a lightly used ZL1 over a new SS or the C7.

Having had both, there were things I enjoyed about the C7 and things I enjoy about the 1LE. I loved my transparent roof, front cameras, the spacious hatch, and visibility in the C7. I was ok with the A8, even though it was wonky from time to time. I hated the Corvette tax and when I ran out of warranty, that’s was it. I could care less about the comments about being a middle aged Corvette guy.

The 1LE has wireless CarPlay, a great sounding exhaust, waaaay better seating, the A10 feels so much better, and the handling is amazing. Add in that I have a warranty again, and I’m more than happy. Believe it or not, I get more compliments about the Camaro than I ever did with the Vette. That could be hater syndrome related, though.

A 7-speed Grand Sport would be nice. But if repair costs are on your mind, be ready if anything goes south. The torque tube went south in my C7 at 80k, the tranny started throwing codes at 90k. It was time to say goodbye.

That’s where my money went when it came down to it. I have no corvette experience nor do I really care for it. After Going from LT1 to ZL1 I see no need for anything else currently. If I had a million dollars to blow the only corvette I would blink at is a C7ZR1 or C8Z06

The main reason a 2024 SS even came back on my radar is the nitro yellow color. Im a pro detailer and Ive seen the color up close, it is spectacular. I need an eye catching car because my business logo and stuff will be on the rear window. Also a new SS and a 2017-2019 C7 are about the same price.

I have owned a new 1981 Z28, 1982 ss, 2016 RS and a 2016 2SS. I love the look of Camaro. BUt visibility is a big problem for me. I have no issues getting in and out of a car. Im 56 and in good shape.

To the Op, get what you want that makes you feel good but personally I would try and find the 2024 Camaro in the color you are looking for!

If you're looking to use it for your business, lease a new yellow Camaro and write it off from a tax perspective.

Yes that's kind of what I was thinking.

Using Kansas City 64108 as the center point and a 2000 mile radius pretty much covers the whole US48. There are currently 22 Nitro Yellow 2SS in the Chevy inventory search. 10 coupe, 12 vert. And who knows how many of those are already sold/ordered.

Chevy Inventory 2024 Nitro 2SS

I personally think the Camaro would stand out more, and have a larger side profile for company graphics if that's what you're doing.

Well, that trunk is huge enough to fit the most upgraded of walkers.

I had a C7 Z06 and after having my Camaro for a year, I'd take a C7 Z06 over my ZL1 any day. I could swap my ZL1 for a Grand Sport and put some cash back in the bank. The Corvette has more panache the Camaro has.
