Military pricing - new GM offer

Noticed on the GM website that from 06 April-31 May, GM is offering "Military Appreciation". It basically says that Military/retired will get "invoice" pricing plus any applicable discounts.

GM usually gives a $2,000 discount to military anyway - hopefully these are both separate & this isn't GM's way of simply "renaming" their standard Military Discount". If they were offering invoice price, PLUS $2,000 off - that wouldn't be a bad deal at all, would it?

I've got a dealer here that tells me "Our military pricing is invoice price, that's how strong our pricing is". I'm willing to bet he's just trying to make his dealership sound more competitive.

Anyone take advantage of this GM Military appreciation yet?

When I looked up what cars the GM Military pricing was on, most of them were 2015's and I believe '16 Malibu's and Cruize's. I'm prior military (not retired) and felt it to be kind of ignorant to offer a military discount on 4-5 models, and not on your other 20+ models. To me that's the same as saying "we appreciate you if you buy cars XY or Z but not if you buy cars A-W".

Hey My87z28,
Veterans are included in this promotion. Here's the link: https://www.gmmilitarydiscount.com/offers

Here's the vehicles included in the current offer:
https://www.gmmilitarydiscount.com/vehicle-eligibility

However, I checked my zip code and the current Camaro military discount for my area is still just 2.9% APR (if you qualify), which is not any different than what they have been offering already. No $ off though...

Eric...Per our PM, sounds like your dealer program is just that...Local deal. Invoice can be gotten from most anyone in the area. If you order though, that all may be different when the car comes in..

Thanks for the info everyone. In my office, the computers won't link into the GM website that lists the cars so I didn't realize that the 2016's aren't included.

Just waiting on a couple more quotes before I make a decision though.

I was under the impression that the new GM deal was meant to include active, retired, and now also includes non-retired veterans

It does. I am a non-retired veteran and I signed up for the promotion. They emailed me a military discount code. However, to take advantage of it, I would to bring my DD-214 to the dealer.

Also, despite being a disabled veteran and having a 100% rating, I am considered in with everyone else.

It as, as the post above says. I too am a non-retired veteran. I was just irritated that it wasn't an across the board discount. It's only a discount if you are buying what they have built too many of or the 2015's still sitting on lots.

hmmm... I'm assuming this doesn't apply if we are already getting a GM employee discount, correct?

Pricing specials are usually those in effect when you take delivery (or pay for the car)... What happens 8-12 weeks from now is a crap shoot..
