What about checking all signals through a scanner and verify whether their reading is correct or not.

and while at it, i'd recommend doing a crank position sensor re-learn procedure it might help you

I found the issue.. after peeking through the hole where the crank sensor goes it appears that I have a 24x reluctor wheel instead of the 58x that I ordered.

Dare I ask the question.. now what?

No freaking way...

So TSP sent you a 4x cam gear but a crank with a 24x reluctor wheel. Damn dude, someone dropped the ball here bigtime.

I’m in disbelief, but yes it is in fact a 24x wheel. I can see it clear as day.

I’ve been in quarantine for two weeks assembling the motor and dropping it in the car. I feel sick. I’ll have to see what TSP has to say about it in the morning.

You can see it’s clearly a 24x wheel

Showing my green on the engine's as i haven't been inside one yet other than just a cam swap. The ls3 uses a cam sensor in the front cover. But everything i see for the reluctor it is on the rear of the crank in front of #5 main bearing. Where is the pickup for the reluctor on the crank if it's in the rear? Gen III had the sensor in the rear i can't find the answer i'm looking for all i can find is the cam sensor in the cover.

I would assume it’s the same as the gen 4 6.0’s. it’s at the rear of the block on the passenger side right in line with the bottom bell housing bolt. Here’s a pic from my 09 LY6 6.0 that I’m building for my 72 K20.

After you get burned once ya learn to check as it comes out of the box. I seen one actually put on backwards and the engine ran! What a mess.

UPDATE

After talking to TSP about the situation they were very apologetic and admitted to their mistake. They have agreed to send me a new reluctor wheel OR have me send in my crank and have it replaced free of charge. As well as new gaskets fluids etc.. that will be needed for the tear down. Unfortunately this is the extent of what they are willing to do. As for the labor for removal, tear down, re-assembly, and re-installation of the motor I am on my own.

Thoughts?

Take them up on what they are willing to offer. While it's just a shitty situation, you are not the only one who has had to deal with it. Valuable lesson, which i learned myself if i do a rebuild check the reluctor before installing the crank! Did you ask them if they would pay to have the block shipped and they can do all the work? That way at least you are only pulling the motor.
