I will try to not be emotional about it, If your only going to go in a straight line the ol Dodge works well. I drove with several of them on AutoClub Speedway they are FAST down the straight but have to brake at corner 1 ... After that, its hard to even see them in my rear view they fall off so fast when you have to turn the sterring wheel.

If your looking for a drag car or something to beat up Mustangs on the highway itll work great !!!

As for the tuning thought mentioned, every car can be tuned to be faster. The Redeye will make just under 1200hp tuned up. Fantastic straight line fun. I wouldnt wanna turn the wheel on that. Dodge markets the drag strip and as mentioned the cars are totally different. Camaro is a fantastic track car as proven with lap times.

Pick your poision and rip some tires!! As long as you beat up some mustangs its great LOL

Can I ask, what is the point of this thread? Coming into a ZL1 section and saying it doesn't have enough HP and you're ordering a Redeye. Interesting.

Personally, I do not care how fast the Chargers/Challengers get. To me, it is an insult to be offered a 20 year old vehicle from a modern manufacturer; one that has been revitalized dozens of different ways, with an engine where it doesn't belong, with way too much weight, with a price tag much too high, with quality much too low. Plus, every single 18-24 year old foreigner in my area has at least a Scatpack or Hellcat with a "cat delete and Legmaker bro". Additionally, they all look the same visually and have for well over a decade. No thank you, utter trash.

Wow you guys are emotional bout Chevys jeez...

OP,

I would say if you're into street or drag racing with the occasional cars and coffee PLUS you leave that Redeye stock then yea the Dodge is probably the better choice. It's got .4 sec in the 1/4 mile, more room and a softer ride

If you plan to mod the Redeye then I would go with what's more reliable. If you want something that handles turns keep the Camaro.

My choice if I was getting rid of my ZLE and spending 80-85K would be a used Mercedes Benz GTs AMG. Some bolt ons, used so no warranty, and it's faster than a Redeye and runs better lap times than the ZL1

Man, I thought I was the only on that felt that way about the Charger/Challenger. Why someone would want that car at the price they ask is beyond me. Considering the OP hasnt even driven one, I still lean towards the point of this thread being to troll people.

Keep in mind, if they released a Zl1 LT5, the HP would be less, but the Power to weight ratio would be higher. This is why I haven't made a move yet as to see what might appear next year. When i dropped off my DD this morning to have an alignment done I saw a Black Redeye fully loaded sitting there. Looked good, but i would have to get one heck of a deal to get it.

I saw a commercial the other day and Dodge was calling their sale HP days or something. Like $9,000 off a new Redeye. I get sports car aren't selling these days but still 9k?

I like the Redeye except for the hood. They are trying way too hard for the WS6 look which rightfully died with the Firebird.
