2016 Camaro SS ugly sound when braking

This morning I noticed a rough like grinding sound when I would come to a stop on the way to work. Sounds like it’s something maybe to do with the front axle? It’s not the squeaking sound the brakes make it’s a bad sound, going to check it out after work but don’t know if anyone has had the same kind of problem. Washed the car yesterday so it can’t have any mud stuck in the calipers

How many miles on the car. Also I have had a small rock get jammed between the pads and rotor making a noise.

My previous Camaros (5th and 6th) would do that because of the surface rust built up overnight on the rotors the next day after washing, but after 1 or 2 stops it would go away. Was your noise only early on your commute, or does it keep doing it as you're driving and coming to stops? Also, 61k miles if they're original pads and rotors you may want to check how much pad you have remaining.

Friday was the first time it did it, it only did it for a little bit then it stopped. I’m about to have a shop check out everything here in 20 mins just to be safe. It’s not a break pad squeal & my pads have been changed man. Let’s see if they find anything, also my car has said to service suspension since it got fixed a few months ago

I bet rust on rotors - if you didn't heat them up enough after washing - overnight definitely had rust on them.

So they took off my wheels & I noticed one bolt is missing like right above the rotor. Seems like there should be one on both sides of the car. There’s 2 bolts vertically right underneath the missing bolt, anyone know what it’s called? Cars been driving fine haha

I agree. This car has rotors more prone to sticking than other cars I have owned. Best to take a short drive after a wash to spin dry the rotors a bit and get a little heat into them. I find once around the block is plenty.
