Paint splatter removal
So I get ready to leave work and I notice what appears to be mud splattered on the rear of my car. Gently rub it with my finger only to find out it is white paint and does not rub right off. Looks like I drove through a puddle of wet paint. Any suggestions?

This should take it right off and can be used to smooth out any touch ups you may have to do too.

^ that stuff, or recently did a detail job on a range rover who ran over a bucket of paint and it exploded all over it and the person's GTR. If you use rubbing alcohol and are gentle with working it out, it'll come off. Worked fine on the range rover but I know the camaro paint is more delicate

I used mineral spirits and lots of gentle rubbing but I think I got 99 percent of it off. Probably didn't do the paint any favors but I think it will be ok.

Spray paint will come off with clay. Paint splatter from the road is thicker and tougher.

Got most all of it off with paint thinner (mineral spirits). Still some on the tire which I can live with and I can still see some on the very edge of the protective film but I am probably the only one that will notice it because I know it is there. Definitely didn't just wipe off, took a couple of hours and a lot of patience. Hopefully when I look at it again in bright light it isn't covered in a ton of micro scratches from all the rubbing.

The risk of using mineral spirits is the absorption of the solvent by the paint. Watch for the paint softening and swelling where you applied the mineral spirits.

I washed it off afterwards with soapy car wash. Hopefully I got it all off and there no problems with the paint. Geez, now I'm kinda worried. Hopefully I didn't screw it up.

You asked people what to use. They told you. You disregarded the advise and did your own thing. I'd be worried too.

You're absolutely right. I got in a hurry and used what I had that I thought would work. Hopefully I didn't screw it up. If I did then I have nobody to blame but myself.
