Mobil 1 got noisy on my 6th gen SS. Went back to factory specified fluid and it's quiet.

That's good to know I heard others saying this too. Do you remember if the Mobil 1 was 75W-90?

I just checked Amazon and still $23.91 a qt for the LS gear oil. Found it cheaper through gmpartsdirect for $14 a bottle plus shipping At $43.39 with shipping for 2 qts. So not much difference and if you have Amazon prime it is fast shipping. The link for Bananza above with est. shipping is the lowest price so far.

People, this is a forum about an american car, let's keep the metric system out of this . The capacity and fluid part number are both listed in the back of the owners manual, always a good place to start for these questions .
