yea, but should I wait 15,000 miles like it says on bottle,lol... but if u think bout it if u waited 15000 miles maybe gm is on the hook for only one change.... 2yr/24000 miles but at least up to 2 visits instead of 4 like we used to get,lol... bean counting at its best

Definitely get Dexos1 approved oil regardless. I was surprised to see it is not full synthetic factory fill.
save money,lol... I don't know some people say blend is better on a brand new engine to break it in...

With a 10 quart oil capacity, oil changes are going to get pretty expensive on these even for us do it yourselfers! Is the LT1 dry sump?

on the LT1 vette with z51, it is dry sump and takes 9.8 qts, without the z51 package it's wet sump and takes 7 qts.

Wow, that's a huge capacity for a wet sump. Not that I'm complaining!

Right. If it comes with a blend then you'll be fine sticking with it.

Hey

My feeling is that they use this special chevy performance oil and it's required at service so my thinking is that if u do it yourself and u have issues it might void warranty.... ac delco makes it and it's cheap on amazon, I will check into it

not true, any demos approved oil of the proper spec can be used, there are no "oil police"

Huh? Oil companies have to pay to have each particular oil dexos certified. I thought I read on BTOG that it was quite expensive...

Yep, hence the Mobil 1 posted earlier. Personally I will use Mobil 1.
