2018 2LT trade-in for 2019 1SS
My friend has a 2018 2LT with the V6 (auto trans) and is considering trading it in on a new 2019 1SS (auto), if he can get a reasonable deal. His 2LT is immaculate and has just over 10,000 miles. What kind of trade do you think a motivated (but not desperate) dealer would give on a year-old 2LT V6, to a customer buying another vehicle from their inventory?
He's thinking that the 2019 SS is unpopular because of the styling, so he can get a good deal, but he doesn't mind the look of it. My analysis is that a new 1SS usually has a $41k or higher sticker, and even with hefty discounts, the car is going to be $36k, unless Chevy starts offering big rebates or one of those 15% or 25% off deals. His better bet may be to do a deal on a lightly used 2018 or 2019 SS ... I saw a few of those listed in dealer inventories. Your thoughts would be appreciated. |
