ZR1 LT5 style cam swap?
Before I start, I got a 2017 A10 35K miles.
I've seen this discussed a few times but nothing too concrete for me to make a decision. Here's what I got: - Want to do DOD delete while I'm doing my oil pump change - Live in that state that's golden - Concerned about emissions and excessive chop at idle which would be a dead giveaway that I'm I would be tuned - Noticed BTR has a cam grind that is just like the LT5, except with a 32% fuel lobe. Supposedly they call it "small cam, big fuel." https://briantooleyracing.com/btr-ca...240006175.html - DO NOT want to mess with valve springs, pushrod lengths, trunion upgrades, hence further the reason for the cam choice - not overly concerned about making a ton more power over what I'm currently making, but a nice 20 or 30 wouldn't be unwelcomed at all given I currently run E50-60 - is this a good route to go? It seems like every other PD cam runs .620+ durations and that's just more than I'm wanting. The only other thing on the table is a custom cam grind, but that may put me out longer than my "week from now" projected build start date. If anyone knows something I don't please fill me in as I'm very open to suggestions right now!

Not much talk about it other than here when I mentioned it a few months ago.

That is the only cam I'd consider at this point. I'd still do valvesprings (maybe 26918s if the lift is stock LT5), and better pushrods and trunions, because you aren't losing ANYTHING with any of those. I think that cam should be worth at least what you're thinking. I don't know more than you, but if my logic makes any sense to you, I'd go with that cam. I'm not sure how well it would do with the OEM HPFP settings, but I'm sure others far more experienced and smart can chime in on that. But - IF you plan on staying in a Golden state - this kind of cam might be the simplest way to make it easy at smog time. JMHO.

Whatever is gonna happen I need to make a move soon, as I have to factor in shipping time. Regardless the overdrive fuel lobe and fact it works with DOD delete for me are the biggest selling points because obviously we could all use some extra overdrive at the pump.

I think the cam will do just as the stock LT5 cam would do. No need to change pushrods, springs, or rockers. Just need to adjust the leading edge angle in the tune for the 32% fuel lobe and send it.

I'm thinking it would probably net maybe 20-30 HP additional over what is currently made, but I'm not entirely sure on that. I'm also wondering if it would lead to a loss of boost (not a problem to address obviously).

It's a stock cam profile that is identical to what is used in the LT1/LT5. 25-30hp at the crank would be generous. being it's a touch larger than a LT4 cam I wouldn't be surprised if there are some gains. It would likely run fine with stock tune minus the leading edge angle adjustment but I am sure a tune would fully optimize things.

Im really happy with my Cammotion 220/236 -118 pd blower cam. Makes great power and even better torque, drives and idles smooth as stock. But it did require different valve springs, push rods and obviously the lifter.

Gpi has some low lift drop in NSR cams for LT engines.

I feel like I looked at their stuff but found nothing. Which one are you looking at on their end?

They only designate them as truck cam because they are low lift and designed to work around stock springs and pushrods. basically more appealing for someone looking to do a modest upgrade to their truck. Not sure why they think every one wants or needs a high lift more aggressive cam for their car. Either way the stage 1 would be a good performance upgrade in any 6.2 and will work fine with a supercharger. might have a hint more aggressive idle.
