1LE or Corvette?

So I put a 2019 1LT Corvette on price watch a while back because I was told there is an overstock and the prices might drop radically.
Dealer called me up today and asked me what they have to do to earn my business this week. So as a joke I told him if he would drop the price down by 15k off the sale price I'd go get it... He said
"IDK if we could do 15, but I can definitely drop it by 10."
So 41k for a new 1LT Vette...a 480whp 1LE out preformance a 1LT (non Z51) Vette, right?

I'd leave the Vette stock besides chopping off the muffler.

cannot find anything back to comparison. Only the 1LE vs the grandsport.

That’s a very low price for a new vette. Unless owning a vette is a childhood dream, you’ll probably be disappointed. Grand sport yeah, ZL1 yeah, but base vette sorry no.

41K for a '19 1LT Vette? I've never heard one that low ever even for a base. I test drove an '18 1LT 7spd manual.

Felt as wide as a bathtub and tons of road noise as well. Getting in/out sucked too. I prefer the Camaro myself. But if you want a Vette, that's damn cheap. I still think Camaros look cooler.

I wouldn't get a base Vette over a 1le, probably a grandsport and maybe a z51. It'd be a toss up, I've always wanted a Vette and typically stock they are faster plus the top can come off on the Vette but the Camaro doesn't scrape on everything like the Vette does and has back seats which I have a baby seat on. Looks wise is subjective, both look great imo, the Corvette more exotic (especially the GS) the 1le more aggressive. Your Camaro isn't stock so the speed difference is most likely nulified. What do you value more, a targa top or back seats?

Corvettes have more "prestige" but that doesn't really mean anything to me, what is cool about it is that they are all legitimate v8 lt1's and up. No v6 or i4 models. I like that, maybe it means something to you as well.

The Alpha platform in the Camaro is much better at handling the tremendous amount of power that these cars can make, especially higher power levels, than the Corvette.

The Camaro has way more of the modern safety features as well.

The only way I would take a C7 over my 1LE is a Grand Sport (or higher haha). With that said per multiple outlet tests the SS 1LE and Z51 Vette are fairly close as far as lap times going, but I would still choose the 1LE all day long, mainly because after seeing a GS/Z06 the base (non-wide body) Vettes just look too plain to me.

Agreed. There's no way in hell I'd buy a base C7 over a Camaro. I'd consider a Grand Sport over the SS 1LE but then I'd just buy the ZL1 1LE instead..

I periodically peak at the C7's myself. The base Corvette is so underwhelming it's not even funny. 245 tires, very generic looking wheels, and disappointing brakes. I'd say it's a safe bet the 1LE will outperform the base C7 in every category minus straight line acceleration.

My thoughts as well, even though that's well out of my price range for now.

I know this may not apply to everyone, but C7s are terrible daily drivers compared to Camaros.

$41k for a 19 1LT is a lot more than $10k off of msrp. Base msrp for a 2019 7 speed is over $56k. Seems highly unlikely to get one that cheap.

245 tires are front only. It has 285 on the rear. Base Stingray now has the same wheels as a Z51.

I follow this guy on instagram with a red 1LE. He has a buddy with a red C7 Z51 and they did some drag race videos. They were pretty much even throughout several attempts. I suspect a base Vette would be slightly slower than a Z51 based on tires, but I could be mistaken.

This all day. Once the widebody Z06 came out, the Z51 look lost its appeal for me.

You won't be disappointed at all. No reason at all to be disappointed. I surely wasn't in my 2017 1LT in Sterling Blue. Sure, you can pay more for a GS or whatever model you choose, but the looks you get driving a Corvette as opposed to ANY Camaro are drastically different,if being noticed is your thing. Corvettes are absolute bargains right now and we be more so as dealer stock remains huge. And there is nothing like it on the road.
I suggest the OP contact the biggest Corvette sellers instead of any nearby dealer for the best deal.
